uberteeb
There’s a new chip shop opening in what was formerly Jaconelli’s on Maryhill Road in around 3 weeks, I know the family opening it very well and they’ve asked me to post a competition for Thistle fans to name it. If the owners choose your suggested name you win a free fish supper at every home league game next season. The owners are a Thistle family although the name doesn’t have to be Thistle related. It won’t be open in time for the Ross County game unfortunately. It’ll be up and running in time for the play-offs but everyone, including the new owners, are hoping that their first matchday business will be on the opening day of the SPFL season in August. Hint: They already have a chippy called ‘The Codfather’.

Rid Skwerr
Good luck to the new owners. Will have a wee "cod-gitate" and see what we can come up with.
peagreenboy
Before this thread gets calcified into endless puns, I think it should remain "Jaconelli's" as the name is a Maryhill fixture.

ian_mac
Before this thread gets calcified into endless puns, I think it should remain "Jaconelli's" as the name is a Maryhill fixture. Jaconelli's cafe is still next door so I wouldn't imagine they will be calling it that.

kni
Using the gangster film hint, I'll suggest Scarfish. Scarface is one of my favourite movies but Goodfellas is better. Of course, they could have a Codfather Part II... On a similar British theme, the Maryhill Rock (as in Brighton Rock) might work.
