  1. And Jered Stirling scored the first with a right-foot volley. Probably the only time he ever used that foot to kick a football.
  2. Yes, as you say - hence the 'deemed to be from the same city' ruling.
  3. 1966-67 Celtic won everything and competed in the European Cup in 67-68 Pre-sevco finished second and were in the ICFC for 67-68 Aberdeen as beaten Scottish Cup finalists competed in the ECWC in 67-68. Clyde finished third in 66-67 and in any other season would have competed in the ICFC, but UEFA refused them entry on the basis of pre-sevco's participation, as Clyde were deemed to be from the same city.
  4. They haven't. The on-line vidiprinter on Saturday credited the goals to Lawleff and Doohlan.
  5. Twists and turns mate. And you better bet there will be at least a couple more in favour of either side before the outcome is finally clear. Let's keep that in mind while we are enjoying this one.
  6. Can't hear a thing due to the overwhelming sound of glass bottles hitting the deck. BUT - it's now up to us to take advantage, and there will be other twists on both sides before this plays out. Let's keep our sense of perspective. But for tonight -
  7. I think the rule is vouchers only if the match abandoned before half-time. The Jags-Aberdeen game from 20 years back was abandoned at 55 minutes, and no vouchers were issued that day. Which is why I did not attend the rearranged fixture. Thankfully, as it turned out.
  8. If it's the one I think you're referring to, it was a bit more than 10 years ago DD!! It was in 1975! They were losing 0-2 to Hibs with 8 minutes to go when the game was abandoned for fog. The replay finished 1-1.
  9. That'll do nicely!! Thanks for the info. Still nothing on the BBC!!!
  10. BBC site still not updated, astonishingly. So who made the vital strike?
  11. A point for us makes it our league to win.
  12. Thanks folks - key info for making my travel arrangements for Easter!!!
  13. Anyone know if the home game v Morton, originally scheduled for 9th April (i.e. 2 days after the RCF) will be shifted to Wednesday 10th April, or will stay as originally listed?
  14. Nonsense. We are insignificant in all of this. In 2013, DUFC are a bigger platform than PTFC are. And therein lies the reason why Jackie walked.
  15. Thank you Rowser for all the unheralded graft that you put in every time you pulled a Jags shirt onto your back. And, of course, for that wonderful strike against Raith Rovers, which most likely meant much more to you and your family than it could to any other Jags fan. Good luck in your future, both within and outwith football!!
  16. Doesn't matter what they have earned in their previous lives. That's immaterial. Who decides when you've earned enough to live on in your job? Your wife? Your mother? Your acoountant? They didn't sign their lives away when they signed up to be manager and assistant of the Jags. They've done a great job for us, but unfortunately, Houston is a c*** choosing to go when he did. That's our bad luck. Get over it and be thankful for the most adventurous Jags football since Davie McParland was in charge. Many Thanks Jackie and Sid for giving the thrills back to Firhill. Good luck to you both in the future.
  17. Calm down man. My point is that to compare Messi and his wee pals to Forbes, Welsh and Lawless is spurious. They operate in different stratospheres of the game. There's a reason (or two) why Ross Forbes, Chris Erskine, Conrad Balatoni et al are Jags players. If Ross Forbes was able to produce what you suggested in your previous post, then he wouldn't have been available to Thistle this season. Does that help?
  18. And there's a reason why Messi and his wee pals are playing for Barcelona, and Ross Forbes is playing for the Jags. And you haven't quite grasped it yet.
  19. Last 12 league games W4 D4 L4. Which would suggest that it's more than a temporary blip.
  20. Yes. Violent conduct means suspended for next game, irrespective of the tournament.
  21. 1993. The late Don McVicar (RIP) was the culprit.
  22. 100% this. Thought Aaron was naive putting his hands on him, although I can understand that trying to get back goalside.............. The substitution of Lawless was curious and probably meant that we were consigned to going long ball for the rest of the game. Add that the goal coming from a meat and potatoes cross immediately afterwards, Jefferies must have thought Christmas had come early. At that moment, I would have hooked Bannigan or Erskine as neither had done much up to then, although both were impressive in the second half. But then, that's why I'm not a football manager. Ach well........
  23. Rotten decision by Jackie. He's got this one well wrong, imo.
