  1. Absolutely. Fill your life with as many adventures as possible (especially when somebody else is paying!). Wouldn't mind ticking the 'played in a world cup qualifier' box myself. Good luck tonight, Lyle.
  2. If the club were to think about this I hope that they would find out how the Citz operate their scheme before dismissing the idea as unworkable.
  3. I really wish I knew Twinny. You're right, Glasgow has many better places than Firhill for meetings/conferences/drinking and the pitch won't support ground sharing. I love Firhill but it is in poor condition and isn't going to improve any time soon. I would hate to have a new Lego set ground for a home and, again, there would still be better facilities around. Like many here I can outline the problems, as the board are no doubt fully aware. Nobody seems to have any answers. Anybody else hear distant alarm bells?
  4. Completely agree, CGMB. My earlier post was tangental to yours, didn't make that very clear. The cost of running a stadium that is used, on average, once a fortnight for nine months of the year must be a drain on resources. Imagine a theatre with two performances a month and full time admin staff, crew and actors to pay. If the twelve thousand seat auditorium was, routinely, only a quarter full for each of these irregular performances, I imagine a reassessment of ticket pricing would be high on the agenda.
  5. I wonder by what percentage the average salary of a Thistle footballer has increased in that time.
  6. Think this idea is definitely worth following up. Some years ago the Citizens' Theatre introduced the Gorbals Card. Once registered, with proof of address, cardholders were able to get a generous discount on tickets. The Citz is proud of its unfashionable location and has a long history of community inclusion. PTFC claim to be a community football club. This might be a good time to prove it. Such a scheme could be widened to offer benefits from other local amenities/businesses. It would be good to see the club leading on this. Offering discounts to those on your own email database is ok but reaching out to potential new local fans could be much more beneficial. I have always been fond of the Gnome idea as a means of creating publicity for the club but in terms of raising the profile of PTFC nationally and possibly internationally, the sort of work being done by Forest Green Rovers of the English Conference would be hard to beat. http://www.forestgreenroversfc.com/about-forest-green-rovers/ecotricity-and-forest-green-rovers/greening-up-football Good topic Sinistar.
  7. Not inconceivable that we could finish above Killie. Hamilton are plummeting. 7th would be very good for Archie's budget.
  8. Clearly the club are struggling to get fans through the turnstiles at the moment. I am a season ticket holder who is happy to see the club try different initiatives to boost the gate money. But, and it's a big but, they need to be gathering accurate data on the uptake of these offers in order to pitch them right in the future. Forgive me for thinking that this might be beyond the organisational skills of our administrators. As has been stated already, many of us will look very carefully at the pricing for next season before renewing. And yes, the pricing of the ICT hospitality deal is preposterous.
  9. I know, Norge. I'm sure they'll get round to it soon...
  10. If you sign up for Tag Plus you can ask your very own Dedicated Director what is going on.
  11. As CERES is currently in orbit around a dwarf planet perhaps they can see if there is any room for the gnomes there?
  12. And what a night that was! We all ended up in Lee's caravan after. Memory a bit hazy but pretty sure it was an 8 berther.
  13. I know, Juggernaut. Not only do I remember an overhead kick but I also thought we played in the red and yellow and all the goals were at our end. Frightening!
  14. Agreed, lib. One for the 'If Barcelona had done that...' collection.
  15. I'll never grow tired of watching that. Goal of the month. Lyle Taylor sublime.
  16. The misery of sitting there at 0-2 as they sang 'Going down, going down, going down' The joy of returning the favour at 3-2.
  17. Off topic, I know, but does anybody have a clearer memory of a 3-2 win against 'Well at Fir Park a few years ago? We were 2-0 down and in danger of relegation. The result left them in trouble too. One of our goals was an overhead kick? from a corner? Would be obliged if someone could fill in the blanks.
  18. I'm glad that my cynicism was misplaced.
  19. My first thought too, Sinistar. This has dragged on for some time. The cynic in me thinks they have been sitting waiting to press the 'Send' button.
  20. Club statement. McMillan released yesterday.
  21. Somebody possibly just posted on Black&WhiteArmy - Was just out for dinner with daughter and son in law. It seems Thistle are in real turmoil on and off the park...
