  1. I used to be Jaggernaut till I became Spartacus
  2. Personally I found the Trust Board statement confusing and still weighed down by previous side-taking. I'm much more inclined to follow the professional judgement of stolenscone and jaf on these matters.
  3. That for me sums it up. I've never ascribed to the school of 'hating' other teams; even if their supporters show bile, it's better to rise above that.
  4. Yes Jim. It's about we got things out in the open so that the Club can move on.

    Egm

Two thoughts: 1) this situation is a fecking mess; there are too many people playing with politics and personal power-trips, they have lost sight of what matters most (the survival of our football club). 2) its good to have JJ back.
  6. Paton home and Sinclair away, for me.
  7. I was around Glasgow a fair bit in 1990, but managed to miss the Glasgow Green gig somewhow. The Bragg/Stipe/Merchant set would have been a real treat...
  8. Time to stop all these shennanigans.
  9. What about Erskine home and Sinclair away?
  10. Chucked in £20 for this. Cheers guys
  11. So, Jackie says a good couple of cup runs and 5th place was our aspiration this season? Then he takes Erskine off and sees us ship 2 goals against lower league opposition... Perhaps a bad day at the office; perhaps it's time Thistle got it sorted. Pash
  12. Rest assured, some of the forum (ir)regulars and Mods will be beavering away to find fault with this thread, mlady!
  13. Vom, when good folk like you are able to pun, it gives me faith in Thistle fans! More power to Gus for making this possible.., Feck sake, a good news Thistle new strip story leads to a thread about animal ethics? I'll be back on me fish puns afore you know it (if Mod7 allows). I haddock enough of this over-earnest seriousness.
  14. Would be good to see Balatoni and Gallagher sign. With due respect to Archie, and he's a player whose jersey I have sponsored, he's probably had better seasons than the past one. In fact, in some ways, Robbo was a more all-round defender. So I guess I'm saying that we need to have a bit of succession planning in defence. Get those youngsters integrated and playing as a tight unit in front of the Fox-meister!
  15. The staff in Greaves had the big pic on the back of yesterday's ET on the counter at 8.45am. One of them said advance strip given out especially for Pamplona trip. Hats off to them, story seems to be been picked up widely. Mind you the big f*ck off 6 foot bee is just out of shot; that's presumably why he was running so fast?!
  16. A black top would go with the same shorts. I still think black with a pink stripe or trim.
  17. Cantaloupe or Honeydew? This strip could grow on me. Will check it out for real in Greaves on Sat. Note for Mr Heron, they claim to do sizes up to 5XL.

    Puns

I am with Mr Heron, Lenny and BCG Jag on this issue. I posted an informative item about the background to the new Club Secretary a couple of weeks back; she happens to be a Director if a seafood company, so it felt natural and fairly innocent to slip in a fish pun. Mod7 dives in, removes the pun without even the courtesy of a PM or a full explanation. And later the published comment of another poster who describes those who use puns as 'halfwits' goes unchallenged?! Thistle fans have always had a sense of humour. If this Forum is to be moderated in such an inconsistent and heavy-handed way, then you can count me out. A poll about puns? Someone is either having a laugh or taking it all too seriously. I'd advise you to look at the balanced moderation that operated under Liane, FT and previous incarnations of a Thistle Forum.
  19. halfwits, eh Tom.... And your evidence for that assertion is exactly what ? humour is subjective, but I always thought that most Thistle fans were blessed with a sense of humour. Perhaps your earnest and forthright opinions on 'halfwits' with 'pathetic' attempts at humour would be best served within the environs of one of the greater Glasgow teams who tend to take life too seriously ? I would ban people for bile, abuse and bullying on forums; not for the crime of making a pun. Just my opinion.
  20. Interesting, She is listed as a Director of Dawnfresh Seafoods, Uddingston.
  21. You mean you didn't spot that I had nominated you again ?!
  22. CD, that comment of yours reduced me to tears of laughter tonight. Top drawer!
  23. That idea is just the dugs baws... But in another note, what about the idea of footballers being required to wear at least 100 replica strips simultaneously, thus slowing down their reactions and reducing the beautiful game to something more akin to a graceful series of slow ballet moves? Sigesige could supply the tops to kit out an entire Division of teams...
