  1. Can't believe I'm missing this game due to work. Gutted. Although I suspect a combination of a weeks partying (inverness 9 years ago anyone???) and Dunfermline being desperate for the points might result in a defeat that would take the shine off it.
  2. Icing on the cake for me was that unlike the last promotion party game the 2 goals were scored right in front of us!!!!! Do do do were all doing the conga:-).
  3. Thought we presented them with most of their opportunities with our slack passing at times and was worried about how deep we sat in. But having said that they never troubled Foxy and our defence coped with just about everything. Conrad was MOTM and Dowie looks like he could form a partnership with him based on tonight. Sinclair picked himself up well after that tackle from Hardie early in the 1st half and O'donnell fought for every ball down his wing and Doolan chased everything. Great night and hopefully many more to come. Icing on the cake was the half time presentation to Harry. Amazing man and the hug from Lambie was superb.
  4. Standing watching the place fill up and all the espectations before kick off gave me that sense of dejavu that comes with supporting the jags. Big Game, massive turnout, high expectation and then crap performance and defeat. We've all seen it so many times. So delighted to be proven wrong and be there bouncing at the end celebrating a victory over our nearest rivals. Bring on more nights like this.
  5. What a night and the cheer that went up from the north stand when they opened the gates to let the overspill from the JHS almost tempted me to leave my regular seat and join them. Well Done to everyone tonight for an amazing atmosphere but especially the North Stand boys and girls. :clapping: :clapping:
  6. not read the full thread so apologies if I'm repeating others Couldn't believe we continually humped high balls into the box when we were 2nd best to every one. It was obvious from early in the 1st half that Sinclair and O'donnell couldn't get the crosses in yet we never changed our tactics. Not wanting to criticise Archie but how many times did you see the queens bench cal the players over and give them instruction? Hate the "never turned up" phrase used by players. It's a cup final. A possible once in a career chance to lift a trophy. How the f*ck can you not turn up and give your best game? All that aside we move on to the big prize on Wed and let's conclude this season and mark it as a League winning and cup finalist team. Similar to our League winning and Scottish Cup Semi finalist team.
  7. Similar situation for me. Rocked up to Hampden about 15 mins before kick off with my 3 brothers to find the queue at the portacabin a mile long. No way were we going to get a ticket and get into the game in time. Me and 2 of my brothers decided to give up and go to the pub instead and eldest brother joined the queue. He gloated for months after about that and still brings it up to this day at any given opportunity. Never got over it!!! Disgrace that it was an all ticket game and only one portacabin selling tickets. If he reads this thread it will start him all over again. :frantic:
  8. Spot on. The SPL and SFA have bent over backwards and thrown rule book after rule book out the window to try and accommodate and placate rangers. Any other team would have disappeared like Gretna or been forced to take over another teams place like Airdrie Utd. This isn't a unique situation just a Rangers situation. And as for sympathy. Forget it. The tin lid was McCoist complaining about not receiving 2nd place money from the SPL when all the people including football teams owed money from Rangers can fecking whistle!!!!! Couldn't mark his neck with a blowtorch. And the cherry on the icing on the cake. We want to negotiate our registration. Un****ingbelievable to say the least!!!!
  9. Lawrenson is a disgrace. How this man gets paid from the BBC and our licence fee is beyond me. He never utters one sensible comment or adds anything to the enjoyment of the game. Even the tone of his voice would depress you. This is not just your usual anti English feeling either as I can understand other commentators or ex players getting over excited and patriotic but he is a complete moronic imbecile.
  10. Spoke to a friend this morning in work who is a massive Rangers fan and regularly in Ibrox meeting people. According to him it's a done deal that they will be in the 1st division next season and they are taking Dunfermlines place and fixtures. He also said that they had reached an agreement that they will have their own TV deal as well (didnt elaborate on how and who with). I was too busy ranting about how any new club should have to apply to rejoin the league and start from Div 3 to really debate any of his points. He finished the conversation with "I'll see you at Ibrox on the 18th August". Obviously this is all hearsay and I'm only telling you what he told me so dont shoot me down or throw abuse in my direction. Have to say though he has always been spot on with Rangers stuff in the past.
  11. Scared the bejesus out of the kids with it on Sunday morning. Screams must have woken the entire street. Strangely enough my wife and daughters didn't share my amusement.
  12. One of my best days and nights ever supporting the Jags. We sauntered down to Firhill 10 minutes before the game only to be met with the massive crowds outside. No way were we going to get in the home end so had to opt for the away side of the shed. On the pitch at the end singing and dancing was a hoot. Then a pub crawl in Maryhill. Star & Garter, Firhill Tavern and Munns. The atmosphere in the Tavern was amazing. Up on tables singing, the barman giving us free pints as we all chanted his name and the added bonus that Celtic failed to qualify for Europe that day just added to the songsheet. 20 Years ago.....FFS
  13. 2nd goal was stunning. Loved the reaction from Pardew and Drogba. Sets it up for a great game on Sunday when they face Man City at St James's park. Mon the Toon.
  14. If memory serves me right there used to be a pub at the top of buchanan st called the 5 ways. Was located roughly were Dewars statue is now. This would be about early 80's as I remember drinking in it as an underage teenager with my brothers.
  15. I'm with you Whitney I believe that children are our future, teach them well and let them lead the way. Show them all the beauty the Jags Possess inside. Give them a sense of pride!!!!
  16. Received this from Ami today in an email shot. Seems like a great idea from the club. With all the negativity surrounding Scottish Football at the moment, with Glasgow clubs in particular in the news, PTFC have a fantastic offer to get families back watching football in a friendly, fun environment. For our game v Livingston on Saturday 3rd December we are offering the chance for adults bringing 2 or more kids to the game to get in for £10. Yes £10 in total for an Adult with 2 kids. All we would ask is that you register at www.ptfc.co.uk (so that we can inform you of all the great kid friendly activity we'll be having over the rest of the season) by filling in and printing one form per child or printing it out blank forms to fill in later, take it to Firhill and exchange for a £10 Adult ticket. The forms received will go into a half time draw with some amazing prizes up for grabs. On the day there will be face painting, giant slides, PTFC Balloons, and our Stadium slingshot will be firing PTFC Merchandise into the crowd at half time. So let's put the fun back into football and get kids to Firhill. If your a member of a local football team, BB Company, Scout Group, Primary: Secondary School, Girl Guides or any other group why not all get together and come along to Firhill on Saturday 3d December. You'll have a great day out and might even win a fantastic prize.
  17. Does anyone know what building was used for the filming? Especially the parts with Clare Grogan.
  18. Big Country must be a shoe in surely. As for Rod Stewart getting into the 70's selection based on the "His Da's scottish and he wears tartan" argument is a feckin joke.
  19. Took a mate from work to that game and he brought his wee boy with him. trying to get them to convert to the Jags and to join us every 2nd week at Firhill. 0-3 down and I am getting all sorts of abuse and his boy is not enjoying it one bit. Had to really work hard on persuading him to stay. By the end of the game 3-3 and the place is electric. Turned to my mate with a big grin and said "welcome to the world of Thistle" Since been back to quite a few games with his boy
  20. My link Bet he's still an improvement on the dross we have here! Must admit I thought that he had something physically wrong with him until he saluted and applauded the crowd.
  21. My link Blackpool manager reacts to being told that Sepp Blatter and FIFA are considering switching the World Cup to winter when it's held in Qatar because of the heat. Superb stuff. "Sack Blatter and Platini"
  22. The slow motion replay made me I'm Sure it was really sore but
  23. Do we know what was said at Scotts tribunal that brought all this to a head??
  24. Recently had a bar lunch in "The Glen " which was very good especially as I had the steak upgrade. My wife was however a wee bit disappointed given that she is from a strong Rangers background that there was no tunes etc playing during our lunch. What the Feck is a "Steak Upgrade"????
