  1. It can work if its done right even if we are never likely to get to 8,000 members. As a more realistic comparison, Exeter City have been fan owned for around 20 years and are probably more or less comparable to Thistle. St Mirren and Motherwell are bigger in size based on attendances so probably have a bigger pool of potential members. If we can re-engage with fans that have drifted away there's no reason it can't work but it needs to be done right starting with getting the shares transferred.
  2. Great looking tshirt. Bought 2!
  3. Sounds sympathetic towards the fans rather than 3BC/JL/PTFC Board
  4. I freely admit I know only a little of due diligence. If the 'buyer' or in our case recipients receive the shares do we write into the transfer it is conditional on warranties, adjustments etc and how do we ensure 3BC agrees to them? Surely all they need to do is refuse to accept a conditional transfer.
  5. Cheers @Woodstock Jag there seem to be even more questions than answers for now and neither side seem to be prepared to answer any of them and neither side inspires any confidence.
  6. This might be a stupid question and it might have been asked and answered previously but what do shares in Partick Thistle actually represent? Does it include any property and assets? This is merely hypothetical but could 3BC transfer the shares to a fan group (say TJF) but retain the ground and evict the club and leaving Firhill vacant and free for redevelopment.
  7. And one of the best ambassadors off the pitch for Thistle. Spoke to him a few times in hospitality after games and he was always happy to chat and have his picture taken with kids (big and small!) Even though he was probably just wanting to get home.
  8. All good points DD. Debatable if the improve the overall standard of Scottish football diven how little of the overall income seems to filter down through the leagues. One bonus of them playing in an English league set up is that there would only be 2 league derbies a season and no Scottish Cup or League Cup games (assuming the spfl/sfa dont fall over themselves to invite their 'B' teams into the league structure...oh wait....)
  9. Regardless of whether the game itself was good/bad (I don't have sky so got no idea) seeing the 2nd half delayed while broken glass was removed from the pitch and a member of staff having to be treated after being hit by a bottle hardly serves Scottish football well. I'm coming round to the idea of both arse cheeks going off to another league but I wonder which league would be desperate enough to think they would add anything to their existing league?
  10. Nope most wouldn't care. They are Thistle players wherever they come from. Saying thatI'd love us to continue to develop home grown talent as well.
  11. Not much more we can do on that pitch it just won't allow passing football. Thought there was a bit more confidence in a few of the players particularly Akinola and Mayo looked good anchoring the midfield. Baby steps I know and it was pretty ugly to watch but after the last few games and still missing a few players, a draw wasn't a bad result and better than most of us (myself included).
  12. I emailed the club 3 times trying to get my seat fixed. They promised each time to have it fixed 'for the next home game' when it wasn't fixed at the 3rd time I opted to move my seat...not even close to the one I had which was almost in line with the half way line. Now nearer the 18 yard box. If the current regime can’t/ won't do simple maintenance are they cutting every corner and dumping it all on the new owners?
  13. I'm in no position to comment on the ins and outs of all this but to me the longer the current Board delay providing meaningful information whether in a DD or other independent way, the more I become concerned that they are trying to hand over a club which may be debt free as promised but one facing huge costs that couldn't be met by a fan ownership scheme
  14. Im not good with social media but think this is worth sharing on Pie and Bovril if it hasn't already. I hope Arbroath fans that travel down on Saturday would want to join in when they know the background.
  15. Worth raising it with O'Neills....
  16. This was mentioned several times before. The rumour (and it is only a rumour) was the loan deal was done because Rudden effectively threatened to 'down tools' if he didn't get the move to Dundee in January. It suited Dundee to loan us back a player who wasn't going to get game time with them. The only people who know the truth of what went on are those involved and we can only guess how we would have fared with Rudden in the team. I suspect if he had a couple of bad games or missed a couple of chances there would have been posts on here saying he wasn't interested in playing for Thistle with a 3 year contact with Dundee signed and sealed.
  17. And Docherty too I think. We couldn't furlough him because we were committed to his signing which was after the furlough started. Hence he was the one in all the publicity pictures for the new kit etc at the time.
  18. It should be. No point raking over the coals
  19. If Auld Jag and Eunice have no objections I feel it would be appropriate to acknowledge Robert's life with a minutes applause at the 31st minute at our home game with Arbroath.
  20. So well put PTD. No matter our differences on here we can all agree that the loss of Robert left a gap in all our lives, but most particularly that of his family and close friends. I'll say a prayer of thanks for Robert today and I hope Auld Jag and Eunice get some measure of comfort from your words.
  21. To be fair DD at some point I'll break the course of the early thread
  22. Hope you are eating your words tomorrow night!
