I think it is still too early to say who the definitive favorites are. The league will probably be tight. Surprising to see Arbroath where they are but maybe after punching above their weight so long gravity is taking hold.
We have had a great start to the season. No doubt there will be some bad unexpected results but ewe have to minimize them and back the team. Despite last season’s collapse I am still optimistic.
Not a great result - especially given the position we were in - but given perspective we are still in good shape.
It's going to be a tight division and we need to keep that in mind. Wish we were top by a couple of points but we are still in the best position.
We can definitely do this.
would have loved a home tie but as Barney Rubble says we did get an advantageous R16 draw.
Something to look forward to. Pressure is on them.
Need a positive result & response as Alan says.
Not a must win but a good performance and certainly not a defeat.
Im looking for a bit more defensive resilience.
Thanks to the Thistle archive for this data --- as always
Doing my own math since the 1975 Premier League our average position has been 14.6 and since 2000 it has been 15.6. Although for the glass half full set (not that there is many of them on this forum) in the last ten years our position is 13.4.
Would be interesting to see each teams historical average with where they currently sit. As indicated by jagfox Arbroath would be punching above their weight while I am sure Dunfermline would be amongst the worst lagging behind.
I had no idea we had 56 team league back in the twenties.
Before the beginning of last season I quickly calculated our position to be 17th since the beginning of 2000. Last year we were 16th. Currently we are 16th.
We seem to be in our sweet spot!
I agree.
That’s why I am always curious about season tickets. It’s an excellent measure of the health of the team. Obviously a promotion or relegation will influence it however most clubs have a ingrained support cultivated over generations. Many on this forum have been life long fans.
Queens Park are doing their thing and it will be interesting to see how things shake up when they get their stadium in order. I wish them well.
We have to get our own house in order starting with ownership. It could be a very bright future.
Really poor result - but first poor result this season (Premier Cup included). Need to bounce back Friday.
Looks like a competitive league. Fact that Arbroath is last shows that.
Too much gloom - we are still in good shape.
Q Park are punching above their weight. Made the most of a distant 4th to have a good playoff run to gain promotion.
Its very early yet, but this is a great chance to get one over the new boys especially when this is somewhat neutral territory
I applaud the initiative. The Club should be inclusive and this is a very small gesture in that regard.
I cannot imagine it takes anything away from the normal running of the club.
