  1. A cheap way to finally get rid of that "friend" you've been wanting to lose for a long time!
  2. Good to see that the big crowd didn't put him off!
  3. The defence definitely looked more solid last week, so I hope that Doolan makes no unnecessary changes for tomorrow. I also hope that if Diack gets brought on he won't be stranded out on the wing the way he has been of late. I remember when Doolan was playing he sometimes was told to do that, and he was pretty ineffective out there. You'd think he should be able to see that Diack is an out and out striker, as he proved not so long ago. Stranding him out on the wing is a waste of his potential. Anyway. 2-0 win for Thistle!
  4. Dunfermline went nine games without winning before they humped us. Hope we don't need to suffer another three......
  5. There are too many cases of VAR decisions that cannot be simply be classified as mistakes, and so the motives behind those decisions need to be questioned. We've already suffered such a case (Dingwall), and for another, look at the decision to award a penalty yesterday at Ibrox. (Guess which team got the penalty!)
  6. As folk have already mentioned, that was much better today, even though we didn't win the game. All of the guys who came in played well, and for most of the time (sat back a bit more in the 2nd half) the midfielders were constantly harassing the opposition and giving them problems. Our two shots from outside the box were screamers, and it's just a shame that they were slightly off target. Mitchell was excellent, with a terrific one-handed save on the line in the first half especially noteworthy. Williams looked good in central defence; that's where he should be, not at right back. Keep plugging away, Jags! I know it's only one game since our defence's total collapses in the past few weeks, but on yesterday's performance we've reformed for the better. w2111
  7. I wonder how he's doing! 😀 He'd surely know how to sort out our defence!
  8. There's always the option of blocking somebody. I did it for one individual last year and since then my experience on this forum has been much more pleasant. I don't even know if he still posts!
  9. Just watched highlights. Although I've been critical of both central defenders of late, I can't attribute special blame for any of those for goals. The problem is unfortunately more widespread, and in need of serious attention. And as for the goalie, honestly, he's blameless for all four, and he had at least one excellent stop that he shouldn't have needed to make if the defence had worked properly. Don't moan about "commanding his box`' when all he has is a shambolic situation in front of him.
  10. I think I'm right in believing that that was Dunfermline's first win in nine games. In retrospect, we should have seen the inevitabe outcome.
  11. Not one, but two perfectly good goals disallowed. What the f*** are you supposed to do against that?
  12. Maybe also Bobby Lawrie (I hope so!).
  13. It's 23:40 here, and after a couple of glasses of cheap white wine, I'm heading to bed in the hopes that I can (a) get up in time to watch the match live (KO 04:45), and (b) not regret having got up to watch it! Thoughts of how we slaughtered them some years ago in a crucial match (truly joyful) loom large. Monra Jags!
  14. My advice: Just let the one or two people especially committed here continue to contribute to this thread in their cosy, wee "My views are more important!" fantastical world. Basically, who cares about their obsessions (if that's what they actually are)? PTFC existed long before they were around to spout their (perhaps partially justified?) opinions/"revelations" (i.e., repeated ad nauseam), and PTFC will continue to exist long after they have gone. I hope we can win against Dunfermline on Friday. But for some other "Thistle supporters," results on the field don't seen to be of any importance whatsoever.
  15. I predict Thistle 3 Pars 0. Graham, Fitzy, McInroy to score.
  16. Just received an email about the (good) hospitality offer for the Raith Rovers game on March 15th. Here's a snippet from the advert: Matchday hospitality places for our upcoming cinch Championship fixture against Raith Rovers are now on sale! Taking place on Tuesday, 12th March, this will be a very special edition of our matchday hospitality as supporters get an exclusive first look at the new and improved club archives and the vast amount of Jags memorabilia contained within. Can anybody clarify the bit about the new archives and vast amount of memorabilia? Is this some kind of permanent display? If so, where is it? What's included?
  17. It was pretty much a game of two halves, with Hibs clearly dominating in the first, and us in the second. I think overall it was a fair result.
  18. By brother was at the game, said that our right back had a nightmare from start to finish. Basically, our defense is hopeless. We know that teams simply crowd Sneddon is the 6-yard box, but he gets ZERO protection from the defenders, who usually don't even jump. Sneddon should definitely have done better with their third: no need to fall back and stab at it with a foot; get the body down to block it instead.
  19. It's not Sneddon's fault, as the shot was simply beyond his reach. Like McIInroy's goal the other week, which nobody thought their keeper should have got it.
  20. Several important points there! Hope that somebody with influence will take note. (But not holding my breath...)
  21. What would be the best result for us tonight? A draw?
  22. I was just thinking: maybe there should be a ban on any threads that discuss the next match before it actually takes place!! Well, the fakers got duly gubbed at home last week, while we simply bottled it at the end, as is our want in most big games (go back to the League Cup Finals in the 50s, our occasional stab at Scottish Cup glory (one success, our record in play-offs (e.g, Dingwall; Peterhead excepted) and minor cup finals etc.) I'd give Adeloye and/or Diack a start, and would like to see McBeth get a start. ICT are crap. We should beat them.
  23. Aw naw, I don't remember three of those players in the Jags team: Murray, Clark, Torrance.
