Jaggernaut
John Hansen v Dundee, but when ? My guess is April 21, 1973. I think we moved from the round-neck version of that yellow strip at the start of season 72-73.
lady-isobel-barnett
John Hansen v Dundee, but when ? Can't make up my mind if that's John Duncan who left Dundee for Spurs. If so I'd guess 73/74 season?

a f kincaid
Maurice Johnston @ 9 so can only be 15 Jan or 14 May 1983. Since it looks like Andy Dunlop @ 5 most likely January. Could be Jamie Doyle going for the corner. Possibly John Murray looking on. 3-1 to the Jags. McNab, G Doyle, WHITTAKER, Murray, Dunlop, Watson, PARK, McDonald, JOHNSTON, J Doyle, O'Hara. Clydebank's Jim Fallon @ 4 and Jim Gallacher's dad in goal.
Jaggernaut
January, and Bankies players in short-sleeved shirts! Interesting 1st division that season: we finished fourth, behind St. Johnstone, Hearts and Clydebank. So with St Johnstone and Hearts promoted, did we do ourselves justice the following season?..... Nope, finished 3rd, behind Morton (who had just been promoted) and Dumbarton. The rest of the decade went on to be dismal, of course. a f kincaid
Looks like the League Cup final 0-0 draw 27 October 1957 v Celtic. Weird looking Jimmy Davidson but he is wearing a huge plaster because of a head gash. He didn't play in the replay.

jaggy
George Muir vs. the Pars It looks like he avoided handling to save it. A far cry from today, even though he wouldn’t even have been booked then.

AlgarveJag
Take a look at the difference between the picture of George Muir against The Pars and John Hansen against Dundee. Two great photographs but does it not strike you that pitches were a lot muddier in the olden days of black and white photography? The advent of colour photography certainly seems to have made football a much cleaner sport. Edited February 5, 2018 by AlgarveJag
Jaggernaut
I was looking forward to this thread hitting the 200-page mark soon..... but since yesterday's revamp it's gone back by around 40 pages....! And most of the emoticons seem to have disappeared, which seriously hampers my ability to express my meaning!
