  1. Thought we looked much better organised today. Previously we’d have gone on to lose after ICT equalised. When we scored the second it was the first time in a while I thought we had a chance of seeing the game out.
  2. Missed the goal due to a bit if traffic. Brought along a pal who hadn’t been for years. Don’t think he’ll be rushing back.
  3. Just in. Still not sure what to make of today. Disappointed not to have won after a good start but a draw away from home isn't a disaster.
  4. Just watched highlights back. Wasn't sure about our last minute penalty claim last night but seeing it again I think it was a penalty - and certainly more of a penalty than the one Hertz got in the 2nd half. Madden clearly didn't want to give it. Decent performance though I wasn't that impressed with Hertz. Thought their goals were avoidable and I'm slightly concerned for the remaining league games that, as we aren't prolific scorers, points will be squandered unless we stop conceding soft goals.
  5. Second half yesterday reminded me of the 6-0 trouncing we got from Aberdeen after we got top six. It's been a bit of a nightmare since then. Thought we had turned the corner but not sure now
  6. Good and much needed win. I can see signs of improvement. Goalkeeper and two centre backs have improved the defence - wouldn't have been confident in holding out last year. Defensively we're still vulnerable at full back and would like to see signings this week. A couple of beers to celebrate tonight. We might just get out of this
  7. My list would include Mark Roberts, Liam Buchanan, Ross Forbes, ATS, Steven O'Donnell, Lyal Taylor and James Craigen (for that goal). Thought Liam Lindsay would go on to be a great player (and losing him was a big factor in our relegation). Have enjoyed watching Banzo develop and Squiddy has been wonderful and frustrating in equal measures. However, for me Doolan is already a legend and we won't fully appreciate what he has done for the club until he is no longer here.
  8. Me too. How do we stop it?
  9. After seeing Aberdeen players throwing themselves to the ground at any opportunity today was reminded of McInnes accusing Killie player of diving last week. Hmmm...
  10. Aberdeen not at their best but we dug in for what could be a good point. Second half especially I though we played ok. McCarthy looked good with Woods in the middle and Christie at right back was solid. As the board went up for 3 minutes my mate said "Hopefully not 3 weeks in a row."
  11. See on the official site tickets are either restricted or unrestricted which means we are in the corner again. Might have gone if they'd given us decent seats. Wonder if our club have suggested better seating or just meekly accepted what Sellick offered?
  12. If they burnt it down the insurance money would let us build a new one!
  13. I'd prefer to stay at Firhill but it needs to be redeveloped. The JH stand although giving great views is too big, the Main Stand ideally needs replaced, the bing is a disgrace with the North Stand probably about the correct size. Wonder if its feasible financially to reduce the JH stand by taking the front section away, move the pitch nearer the basin, replace the main stand with housing/flats and a stand similar to the North Stand. Part of the North Stand would need to be removed/rebuilt. The bing could then be redeveloped including safe standing or a stand. Pie in the sky I know but the capacity is too big for our current needs and I don't think it is a favourite venue for away fans as (except for the uglys) the are housed in the old stand. If away fans are given decent facilities and a decent view more may come. We all have places we prefer to visit due to the facilities and the atmosphere.
  14. Was referring to where we are put at their grounds.
  15. We took over 1000 to Dumfries on Saturday. That was an enjoyable day out to somewhere we hadn't been for a couple of years. I had no inclination to attend last night (or any time) the ugly sisters come. I fully understand the financial reasons for the club giving over the JHS to them but I don't want to be there. We give Septic and Servco the best seats in the house and in return we're squeezed into the corners.
  16. Does the big drop in prize to only £157 reflect that many regulars just don't show up when the ugly sisters come?
  17. We need to be a bit sharper and our first touch was sometimes awful. Could be down to the pitch but same for both teams. Good to get through and hopefully a decent tie in the next round - away to a lower league team we haven't played in a while. Brora hopefully,
  18. We're playing in a league which we are never going to win. If we are in the top league our target is avoiding relegation and maybe getting a wee run in one of the cups. We won't attract many more supporters on a regular basis unless we are challenging for the competitions. I usually attend around half the home games and some away games each season. I attended more games in our promotion season especially towards the end of the season as the excitement and tension built. The Morton game is still probably the best memory in recent history. If playoffs at the top were introduced like in rugby union, rugby league, basketball etc then more teams would have a real interest throughout the season. Pipe dream I know as the Ugly sisters would never allow it.
  19. Result most important thing about today. Probably fortunate to be ahead at half time - Davis gifted Dools a goal them missed a free header. Secnd half we created more and thought Salmon played well. Defence looked more secure with Barton, Turnbull and Keown in the middle but maybe RC were just poor. Looked like a good spirit in the team with everyone playing for each other. While the season has been disappointing so far the extent of injuries had been a big factor. Let's hope we can get most of the guys back and push on after the break.
