"Ack, dry yer eyes, you only felt threatened but you didn't actually get hurt!" Some of the posts here show a lack of respect for other fans - why can't someone be asked to tone it down a notch and do so. Why should someone be forced to move seats, why can't they just say that they have a problem and for people to respect that. No-one is talking about a swear ban here, just within reason. But a few too many folk seem happy to blame the person who complained. What about blaming the guy who, by some accounts here, took things too far? Football supporting is all about atmosphere, sitting in silence is a waste of money and time. And are we realy saying that calling someone a rent boy is.....out with reason? some people need to get a handle on reality. The person who took things to far is this Lenny thistle chap. Cos there was only one person in the ground that had a go at him and that was me. Good on you if you had a go at the eejit outside. When we eventually got outside (having stopped to ask the stewards why they hadn't ejected him) we must have missed you by then. We had another go at him as he walked up to car park. It was a bad day all round. Maybe I should just retire gracefully from this thread with the story of one of my son's first matches at Firhill. The two guys in the row behind us spent the whole first half swearing liberlally about various c's on the pitch and the effin ref amongst others. At half time, my son turned to me and said "dad, I just heard the man behind me swear". With some trepidation, I asked him what he had said and he replied "he told his friend he was away for a pish". I, or any of the people I was with, were not "spoling for a fight" of any sort. I couldnae fight sleep. Did make me laugh though that Honved felt that my argument that swearing at football was part and parcel was "pish" Apologies for the assumption you were involved with that crowd, it was more the group who were escorted out by the steward I was meaning who were being rather aggressive. The boy who was arrested could've avoided the whole situation by not swearing at the steward when she was having a word with his mate. Swearing is part and parcel of football I agree, however swearing for swearings sake at the linesman long after everyone else had quietened down was over the top. No one came out of the whole situation looking good to be honest and both sides could've easily avoided it getting to the stage it did. The stewards in particular though as it's their job to maintain the safety of the supporters when they could've caused a riot with their actions. It was his dad who spoke to the steward, was that ott? Well I don't know coz I wasn't there. The way I see it is the threats, climbing chairs and chants of scum were towrds the stewards. I'm guessing lennythistle and his family were between this group of fans and the steward. If I'm right can you see why he might have misunderstood? If yes, magic but if no then consider the fact he had his young daughter with him. She would have been scared anyway if she was in the midst of that (whether it was directed towrds them or not), so lennythistle has reacted to his daughter being terrified. The veracity of Tom Hosie's post in the wake of the game at Central Park was debated to the hilt, but it appears in some quarters you can't question those made by simple fans, as opposed to those fans who are also club employees. So its Lennythistle/his dad that needs to take a look at himself. Stirring up trouble at the football is perhaps not the best course of action when you have brought along your daughter. I'm sure a few who post on here are aware of the events that im about to mention and i am sure i'll take even more abuse now...but im saying this regardless. If you were one of the 50 or so who swore, threatend and abused me, my dad and MY TEN YEAR OLD DAUGHTER , then you truly are the scum of the earth. I am not naive to think swearing doesn't go on at matches and that it's wrong...but my dad felt that the level of abuse coming from behind us was totally out of order. The end we were in had a large number of young children in it and yes he was protecting his grand daughter.....who is TEN !!! He may have asked the steward to deal with the issue but he sure as hell was not responsible for the events that followed. For us to be hounded out the ground after 35 minutes with my daughter in tears and terrified was an utter disgrace. If you are one of the yobs shouting, threatening, accusing us of being scum as we tried to leave then you are an utter disgrace. did you see the fear in my daughters face, are you proud you were threatening a child....a TEN YEAR OLD GIRL !!!! Some tried to climb seats to get to us as we left.......we were as entitled to object to the level of abuse being dished out as some of you think you were entitled to give it. some behaved like animals as we made the decision to leave. I've never once been embarrassed to call myself a partick thistle supporter.......today has changed all that. I was wondering what that was at the far end of the stand today. By the sounds of it, the guy they had a problem with would have been unlikely to have appreciated a quiet word from another fan, so they did the right thing and spoke to a Steward. During game my dad, objected to what he deemed was too much foul and abusive language from a section in the area we were in...an area full of kids...one being my daughter. He asked the steward to ask that the guy tone it down. That was it as far as we were concerned. Then about 5 mins later it all kicked off with the steward and the guy in question....the steward claimed he was assaulted, i know this because while outside , i heard the steward make a complaint of assault to the police. The guy was taken out amoungst a lot of abuse aimed at the steward and police...i stress we never asked him to be removed. Then a section of the support turned on me and my dad and daughter. We were called scum, sworn at repeatedly .....due to this i felt it best we left. the abuse and threats intensivied as we left and my daughter was in a great deal of distress....none of this mattered to those who continued with the abuse. Physical threats toward us were made. We then left the ground. stirling albion stewards offerded us seats in hospitality but i declined as my daughter was too upset and wanted home. thats it...not one bit of spin.....anyone who suggests otherwise should be here to deal with a terrified ten year old who will now , as she says, go back to thistle matches again and a 64 yr old grand father who has supported thistle his entire life, who will never watch thistle again.
