Clinically Depressed
Just in from the game, thanks to reckless driving and a rapid service from the kebab shop. Game nearly didn't go ahead as the referee decided to have a late pitch inspection. The guys were well fired up for this, and both managers were very keen for the game to go on, although I suspect one of them had wished they'd chosen to abandon the game. HUGE well done to Shaun again, and brilliant to see wee Jamie get on the scoresheet. One thing I will say though. You all really HAVE to look out for Tommy Dunnet's video highlights to see Flannigan's goal. Erm............looked a bit wow from where I was, so can't wait to see the view from the TV gantry. Pics up later - hoping I've got some good ones. Now going to enjoy a massive kebab. Edited to add: - I'm soaked, I'm frozen, I'm starved. I'm happy. chunky jag
When I showed up today I dreaded it, the pitch looked awful, thought it was going to be a long day. How wrong was I! Excellent performance, against poor opposition right enough, but still, passing and movement was best I've seen it in a while, constant threat, Doolan and Buchanan ran them ragged could have both had hat tricks. Fox had nothing to do, apart from the penalty, which was the most blatant dive I've ever seen in my life. Paton Archie Robbo Boyle all solid, Paton did well in tandem with Flannigan on the right, who scored an absolute peach, think Rowser at Livi few seasons back. Hodge had a frustrating day, but still worked hard. Rowser was immense, non stop engine. Erskine had one of his best performances in a Thistle jersey, particularly pleased he got 90 minutes. Dooland and Buchanan look like they had an understanding, Buchanan could have had 4, missed 2 one on ones with their keeper, so he still has to sharpen up, but he still played well. Doolan held it up well, and was a constant threat. Could have easily ended 10-1 today. Delighted and so proud the youngsters came on and scored, as McCall said in the after match reaction, really is the icing on the cake. Fraser has a good build for a centre forward, and young Campbell also looked handy on the right wing, both took their goals very well. Roll on Tuesday, bring on the Falkirk!! GrantB
Brilliant today, no failiures apart from the ref who gave Stirling a pen instead of giving Smith a 2nd yellow for simulation. Absolutely delighted for Frazer and Campbell, and Flannagan's strike was an absolute stormer. In from the second it left his boot. Liam should have had (at least) 4 today and if it wasn't for the Stirling keeper, it could have been double figures. The turning point of the game for me was Paton's magnificent goal like clearance from a header from a Stirling corner. I thought it was in all the way and Fox wasn't getting anywhere near it. Massive well done to all connected with the club. Stirling were a very poor side though. Edited January 15, 2011 by GrantB
angry gaz
Great performance from front to back. Flanagan's goal a top quality rocket was the highlight of a very, very good team performance.Thought Erskine looked full of running today and went at their defence at every opportunity and Liam's confidence and fitness seems to be returning with every game now. Lots of Hunger about the team today too, didn't stop until the final whistle and two goals from the two youngsters put the cap on a fine day.Flanagan's goal though........oooooohhhhhhhhh

alx
What a day, ya byooty! Bring on tuesday night, canny wait. Lance's man of the match joke got me laughing, everything was in slo-mo due to the mud, even the penalty incidents.

Jaggyman
Pretty good performance today given the conditions, pitch looked awful and after the warriors get hold of it tomorrow god only knows what it will be like on Tuesday. Glad to see Liam get 2 goals but he really really shooda had 4. Doolan took his goal well and could have had another with a free header late on. Flannigans goal was a peach and i was delighted that both the young boys got a goal each on their home debuts. I reckon if mccall could have written the script for this game then what unfolded would have been almost spot on. On a personal note the last 2 Jags performances have lifted my spirits after what has been a difficult time. Well done and ty Jags.

Chicken tikka, shish kebab, seekh kebab, lamb tikka, and a mountain of donner on a nan bread. a.k.a. arterial blockage in a pizza box. BTW, am looking and editing my pics now. If Stirling are considering appealing against their red card, I've got a pic that'll make them think twice. Utterly disgraceful attempt to seriously hurt Paton. Tom Stronach
Didn't hear mention of attendance today, no mention on website or bbc, anyone know what it was? 1600 according to Radio Scotland. Worrying, but at this time a year a lot of people simply can't afford to go to the football (myself included).
Tom Stronach
Tuesday should be a doddle if the pitch is still a bog. Falkirk only know how to play football the "right way" and are similar in style to the Brazil side of 1970. We on the other hand, are a team of cloggers who are "anti-football" and are "difficult to break down". The Earl of Hathaway
Just to be clear on this - Stirling might well have been poor today, but that's pretty much the same poor Stirling side that's beaten us 2 -1 and 4 -2 already this season. It's about time someone got a doing off us, and if that doesn't give the team confidence after Tuesday's performance then we're screwed... C'MON THE JAGS! Looking solely at today's game, I have absolutely no idea how we could have namaged to lose 2 games to Stirling this season. Having said that, you can only beat what is in front of you and Thistle did that superbly today. Magic!!!

Just had a wee look at the league table - Stirling have won 3 games this season - 2 of those against us. What WERE we thinking about? (opens wine bottle, pours large draught) Now let's do for Falkirk and pump Cowdenbeath next week and we can all relax and enjoy ourselves. Cheers to all Jags fans! I'll drink to that. I think McCall deserves a great deal of credit for the way our fortunes have turned around. There has been no magic wand for how we have managed to turn the corner. Added to the fact that it is great to see the young guys coming through. More of the same over the next few weeks Jags

He has came in for some stick on here.....a lot has been deserved , a lot not.....7 games without loss, youngsters getting a chance, some goals scored of late and defence looking tight, particularly at home. If corky is joining most of us with a wee celebratory drink tonight, he can have one on me...You've earned it.

Collins Out!
Well done to the half a dozen or so wee guys who clambered up the side of the bing to chant 6-1 and Championes at the fans as we left tonight. lady-isobel-barnett
Don't think much has been said if any about the gale. If we'd only gone in 1-0 up at half time, playing with that strong wind, I'd have been a bit concerned. Playing into that wind and scoring four into the bargain was some achievement. Great to see the two youngsters not just scoring but also contributing. Been saying for ages those two are physically strong and there's very little of a risk factor in playing them. Another thing that pleases me was that we're usually none too clever playing in windy conditions. Today we turned that into an advantage. Steven H
Nothin more to add to the thread except to say well done to all concerned today, particularly Fraser and Campbell. Scored the goals to put us 5 and 6 nil up and celebrated them as if they were matchwinners Lance, you're a cheeky monkey
