Somehow (through an error of my own, no doubt), this ended up in the wrong place yesterday (edited to get rid of out-of-date stuff re yesterday's match):

Actually, the notion that if you're a Jag, then you're a Jag for life, doesn't seem to ring true. When I was a teenager there were tons of us from Drumchapel who used to follow Thistle everywhere; there would sometimes be 15-20 of us on the old Whiteinch bus before it even got out of the Drum. Nowadays, at best, I see one or two of those guys at matches once or twice a season. I know that many of those supporters from long ago just abandoned football for one reason or another, and they've probably not been to a match of any kind for 30 years. Although they might still call themselves Jags when pushed, unfortunately they're not supporters, and I doubt whether they'd bother too much if another big financial crisis came around.

Be fair, it takes till about 10/11 before you start becoming strangely obsessed. Until that age it`s just something you really liked doing or got dragged along to. I reckon it`s in order to say that a 35 year old jaggie has only really been suffering for 25 of those years.

Hi there Big Hebridean, :thumbsup2:

As a nearing 56yr old I can honestly say that I've been through some torrid times supporting the Mighty Jags and you would know some of them mate.I'm still going through some torrid times now even though I'm 11,000miles away but when you see the Jags win away from home ( Raith )these torrid times just seem to disappear. I knew that when I put on my new Thistle jersey on Saturday that they would win even though I didn't know who the hell they were playing.Mibbees I should wear it every Saturday now until the end of the season for good luck or am I being too hasty ?

Many crisis of faith, Derek Johnstone, Sandy Clark, Gerry Collins? And dare I say Dick Campbell - sorry and get well soon - I know he achieved what he set out to do but some of his signings and the "brand" of football played racked my faith to further attend games - Viva McCall! Season tickets next year and every year until death do us part.

Nice that you still remember him, even though he's no conger with us.

Eel be remembered for a long time, I'm sure. Great live performer. I hake to think it was 26 years since I saw him with Queen at Wembley. Doesn't seem that prawn ago...
