Good move, Smeato. That would have saved us three pages of the Abigail Williams routine. However, we're stuck with it.

Can I ask, were you put out straight away or spoken to/advised/warned about your conduct? Was there more than one incident? Confiscation of a bottle seems to have appeared in the mix.

What's your problem McKennan? Why shouldn't these issues be discussed on a public forum? You obviously weren't there and have no idea what went on, so what is your problem?

He's asking questions, just like you. I don't see that as anyone having a problem, rather different approaches. Perhaps it should be left to Smeato to answer his queries, if he wants to, of course.

He seems to be suggesting that the discussion shouldn't be taking place Ross, that's what puzzles me.

We were approached by the stewards during the 2nd half and were told to go downstairs under the stand, were we were told by the head steward that we were caught on cctv throwing things, to which i admitted re the paper thing and to our disbelief we were being ejected from the ground. The bottles thing was to the right handside of us over the other side of the stairs , i noticed the female steward removing what looked like three plastic bottles

I just thought I would post today after having 24hrs to calm down. I am the other person along with my good friend Smeato Jag who was ejected from the ground for throwing something. As with every version of events there are 2 sides to every story. Obviously I can only give my side of the story and like anything else you will form your own opinion. However when all is said and done I will not be stepping foot inside Firhill again until I have an apology for what I consider to be one of the most embarrasing things ever to happen to me.

I was ejected from the ground along with Smeato Jag because we were accused of throwing something. I at this moment in time admit my guilt at throwing my ripped up 50/50 tickets in the air at half time guilty as charged your honour. I also admit to having a pie at half time and throwing the foil tray down at my feet guilty as charged your honour. My son who is 26 and accompanies me to every game also had a pie however was unable to finish it so he threw the pie and the foil tray down at his feet. Smeato Jag never had a pie therefore no foil tray however he did throw the 50/50 tickets guilty as charged your honour. At the end of the game if you have nothing better to do please take time to look for all the other foil trays and 50/50 tickets that have been thrown at fellow supporters feet. I do have 3 season tickets I also purchase many Partck Thistle items from Greaves in support of the club. My son is a Player boot sponsor as well. Alas after yesterdays experience I will not be renewing any season ticket or rushing to help financially in any way with the club. I have been watching Partick Thistle for the last 40 years and have managed to raise my son with that wonderful experience of being a Jags fan however for me its finished I have had enough........... at 46 years of age being escorted out of the ground in front of your own son is one of my lowest experiences I have ever felt in my life.

I will be e mailing the club and asking to meet with someone as quickly as possible so that any cctv evidence can be viewed to exactly pinpoint when the supposed offence took place. I would like to also point out that if I am in the wrong in anyway then I will be the first to post on here with an apology to the club.

I have always been a passionate Partick Thistle supporter and those who know me would sometimes say too passionate however for me thats it shove your club where the sun dont shine. You are slowly but surely killing our club....thanks

Ian, if I locked horns with a steward and it led to people being ejected from the ground, I'd speak to the people at the ground before I went home and kicked off a squealing match on an internet forum.

Why should not I discuss this issue on a public forum with other fans? Have I asked questions you don't like or maybe don't want answered? What's eating you? What's your problem? Is anyone who wasn't there to be excluded from a debate (Ha!) about stewarding?

Have we just to take your word for all this?

I 'seem' to be suggesting a discussion should not be taking place? Seriously? Here's me taking part in a conversation that shouldn't be happening. :hypocrite:

No Ian, what I have said and am saying is that there's an issue over stewarding and we're only seeing one side of it here.

Why is it you can take a bottle of coke or Lucozade or whatever to your seat in England but not here?

The old nugget - bottles and alcohol aren't allowed in grounds because my generation of Scottish football fans decided they could get away with behaving like weans at matches. The law took their toys away.

Thanks for your side of the story guys. Good luck with getting things sorted out. Over zealous CCTV operator by the sounds of things. I'm going to hazard a guess here reading between the lines of one or two of the posts and I suspect a few naughty words were exchanged which would hardly have been surprising in the circumstances.

I wonder if Europa may have been trying to show that they can control things in absence of any Police presence at Firhill and have gone too far. Better to show they can handle things amicably rather than showing that all they are adept at is inflaming minor situations.

If it's proved that the Stewards involved in the ejecting of these guys abused their position they should be shown the door.

It was either a bottle of Coca Cola or Pepsi, whether it had alcohol in it or not - no one knows. The steward didn't check by smelling the content of the bottle..

It doesn't matter what was in the bottle. Because it can be used to cause harm it's now allowed. I was standing at Alloa's ground at a pre-season friendly a few years back finishing off a bottle of water and a steward came up to me and apologetically asked me to throw the bottle in the bin as it wasn't allowed. No problem, just did it and had a laugh about it with the one or two others that were with me at the time. The law about containers has been about for a long time now so everyone should know about it. Indeed when we had our own stewards they used to go and find a cup for you to put the liquid in. Not sure if this is what's happening with the new regime?

snip-

So by that reasoning I guess we won't be seeing PTFC throwing packages into the crowd again? If what you are saying is taken literally then by your reasoning they sould be ejected should they not?

I know that's being extremely petty but so was the 'reasons' given for the fans being ejected. If it was a bottle then yes, a pie foil tray...

Also left the last it of snipped quote. 'Abusive towards staff including stewards'. What if I don't like the steward at the back gate's every second word to me being a swear word? He might not be seeing that as abusive but I might take it as being abusive.

I ave to say that i've long thought that the stewarding at Firhill left a lot to be desired. Doesn't look good when they're standing on duty outside the ground smoking a fag and swearing whilst talking. Not very professional imo.

This is something that I think does improve the overall experience at Firhill. The catapults (though they mostly failed) a while back raised a few smiles. The youngsters especially like this kind of thing. What a shame the entire positivity can be wiped out by one or two wee officious Hitler types.

Ruchillnomore, Smeatojag.

I'm glad you have contacted the club and wish you all the best in getting to the bottom of this. I wasn't there yesterday and when I'm at home games I'm always in the family section. I've heard differing versions of what happened yesterday but if all either of you are guilty of is dropping pie foils at your feet and throwing your 50/50 tickets in the air, then you deserve an unreserved apology from the club at the very least.

Whoever brought the bottle in was daft. Whether we like it or not, we should all know you can't get into a match with a bottle, plastic or otherwise, hip flask etc.

RNM: sounds like, if you don't get satisfaction from contacting the club, that a formal subject access request under Section 6 of the Data Protection Act might be in order.

Happy to advise, if you want to PM me off list

I think you will find that I voiced my opinion to Brian McKigen when I left the ground. I am known to everyone who sits at south end of the JH, I don't say anything on here that I wouldn't say in person. Furthermore, I do not hide my identity on this forum unlike so many others.

Have you to take my word for it? Well, if I was found to be plucking this story out of thin air, it would make me seem pretty silly, would it not? Especially considering what I have said above.

Ian, I accept you were there and have given your views on the matter.

It is , however acceptable for others to ask questions without you jumping down their throat on here. I fail to see what McKennan has stated previously that caused you such upset.

Think whether people witnessed it or not, it is a matter that concerns everyone.

Alan.

Lenny, there are lots of people getting upset by this and it seems to have taken wings. I didn't see the incidents in question, so if someone wants to tell me to get lost that's for them.

This is also an open forum and everyone's going to have their tuppenceworth to put in. I'm happy to leave at everyone having their side of the story.

It's interesting to see people now talking about Europa, Solutions and the nature of their relationships with the club. That, as the saying goes, is for another day.

Yes of course, everyone can have an opinion. But how worthy is your opinion when you are commenting on an incident that you didn't even see?

You accuse me and others of starting a witch hunt. I think it's quite right to point out injustices such as yesterday, because sometimes that's the only way things can get sorted out. I've invited Brian, Europa and the club to give their side of the story. This hasn't happened. In no way whatsoever is this a witch hunt.

At a time when we are losing fans by the dozen, to see 3 season ticket holders humiliated and treated like criminals is an absolute tragedy for Partick Thistle. It's because of incidents like these that so many fans are not interested in attending matches anymore.

Our game has been sanitised and gentrified to within an inch of it's life.
