hamiltonjag
This is exactly the kind of response that you would expect from a Dalek. It's bad enough when the police (usually Tayside) abuse their authority to bully and harrass football fans, but when you give an inadequate, unemployable moron a fluorescent jacket, all reason goes out the window. £17 quid to get in, a mud bath/sandpit for a pitch, meaningless, mid-table football against the same teams year after year, awful catering facilities, a bing behind one goal, an empty viagra stand behind the other and a decaying dis-used and once proud main stand and now people being thrown out and humiliated in front of their friends and family for ripping up half-time draw tickets. Has the match day experience at Firhill ever been as bad? No wonder we're struggling to attract two thousand fans to a game. What a sad state of affairs. Spot on! I came to this thread to post something but the above says it all, so no use repeating.

lennythistle
the club have responded to us both and we are in the process of arranging a meeting with them, thanks for all your support Yeah like others have said, i hope it goes well and you are both back at Firhill for next home game. Also pleased the club responded to you both as quickly as they did.
Jaggernaut
RUCHILLNOMORE Mate, dont let the pricks get to you. Thistle is obviously a big part of your life and should remain so. We dont want to lose die hard fans like yourself to two scum stewards. This is good sense. These stewards are not PTFC, and maybe what happened was in fact out of PTFC's control. GrantB
Just like to add to what many people have already said. We as a club cannot afford to go about alienating fans by having stewards behaving in this manner. I sincerely hope that the club do something to try and mend the damage caused and that smeatojag and ruchillnomore do not feel like they cannot return to Firhill in the future. JaggyThistle
Sorry to go slightly off-topic, but how many of the "sectarian polis" were in the ground? I only saw the two at the stairs in Section 1 but wondered if there more further along the JH?

Don't think it's off topic, I don't think it's a coincidence that the stewards behaved like this on the same day the singing police were in town. What can they possibly be expecting to hear or see at Firhill? They are looking for easy targets, that's why they are at 1st division grounds. This is the reason I started that other thread mate the polis will be out in force and will be making examples of people for daft things...like throwing paper in the air...just puts me off going even more!!! I honestly think we may well be reprimanded for singing songs like "we hate dundee" if we sing "mary fae maryhill" we'll probably all end up in the tin pail

lady-isobel-barnett
didn't we make a big song and dance a while back that we wouldnt have any police in the ground any more? The way I figured it was that we wouldn't be paying for any more polis or at very least the cost of policing was getting substantially reduced. I'm assuming the absurd level of police presence was more to do with the new law. What could be slightly worrying, and I don't believe I'm being too cynical, is that the polis will report back that there were X amount of incidents on Saturday and would recommend a higher level of club invoiced policing in future. The fact that using the word incidents may be bordering on the fictitious could be inconsequential when it come to the polis getting a cosy wee earner. Incidentally it might be interesting to see if Falkiik receive similar policing attention on Saturday. At a corresponding fixture last season there were only 3 polis inside the ground and they were apparently only hanging around because of traffic duties after the match. Of course if police pick up intelligence about a potential mass outbreak of paper ripping it could be like Orgreave all over again.

Don't forget the offence first reported in "Not the Nine O'Clock News": wearing brightly coloured clothing in a built-up area. To be on the safe side, best not to wear Jags tops. Milo
Well just to add a bit of atmosphere at our next game at Firhill a few of us have decided to rip up loads of paper and bring lots of toilet roll. When the players come out for the start of the game the tiny bits of ripped paper is getting launched in the air and the bog rolls thrown on the pitch. Everyone is welcome to join in? I wonder if we will all get thrown out as there is eight of us and counting... Excellent idea. I think I'll do the same. In fact, if I bring in a paper shredder we could organise some kind of ticker-tape parade for the stewards at half-time!
JaggyThistle
In sure I was told there was 8 of them in the ground. Thanks. I just wondered if they had made a special effort to keep on top of us naughty boys in the corner, but seems not
Ruchillnomore
Good Evening Everyone, On behalf of Smeatojag and myself I would just like to inform everyone that we have met with the club and are extremely pleased to inform yourselves that the club have confirmed that they are totally in the wrong in relation to the miscarraige of justice that resulted in us both being ejected from the ground. Whilst the circumstances and the embarrasment can never be reversed we are both satisfied that the club have fully reviewed the events of Saturday and are in the process of ensuring that through due dilligence by all staff incidents such as Saturday should never happen again. We would both like to say many many thanks to everyone who has supported us. It has restored our faith in all things that are Thistle. A point that was not lost on the club so never underestimate the power of the supporter.
lady-isobel-barnett
Very pleased to hear that. All credit to the pair of you for helping get the problem be resolved. ian_mac
Very pleased to hear this. Complete u-turn from the club here, and I really hope we start to see a complete u-turn in the way they treat supporters on a permanent basis.
lennythistle
Such a shame the incident happened in the first place. Was pleased the club reacted so quickly and even more pleased to hear you appear happy with their response. Never witnessed any problems down the family end with the stewards but there certainly seems to have been a different approach down the "shed end". Hopefully there is a full review and a change in approach and the matchday experience can be improved upon for all. Everyone who sits/stands in the "shed end" needs to feel valued. I don't see eye to eye with some on here but you have such an important part to play in the match day experience and improving the atmosphere at Firhill. For too long now, it appears you don't feel valued....that has to stop now. Ive said before we are too alienated as a support and if we were to try pull together, we may make a difference. We did here and the indication is we have made a difference. Hope Smeatojag and Ruchillnomore are at the next home game, with their lads. Come half time, we should all throw our 50/50 tickets up into the air in a show of support............Well all except the two who have the winning ones!!
