jagfox
Might as well get this started. Team news, pub recommendations and travel options all welcome. Novar seems popular choice on p&b largely due to soup and parking. Anyone got details for train from Queen Street? Will Doolaninho be back? Where do you get the best red pudding? McKennan
Soup and parking, what more could a football fan want? The logical train route would be Glasgow to Edinburgh, Edinburgh to Kirkcaldy. The journey takes between 30 and 40 minutes, depending upon which train you take. Looks like there are at least two an hour.
jagfox
Thought it was maybe electric soup but it does seem to be broth that the boys want
lady-isobel-barnett
An alternative to the Novar is the Estuary Bar (now probably the nearest pub to ground). in Links St. Friendly enough wee place with sat tv & pool table
little_miss_jag
Novar is the best place to go, friendly staff, good pub food, sky sports and free soup after the game! Love it! Can't wait! If going from Queens street avoid any trains leaving at half past otherwise you will be standing about in haymarket for a wee while! Quickest train to get is one leaving Glasgow at quarter to the hour. But you want a train on the hour quarter past the hour and quarter to the hour to avoid a silly wait a haymarket. ! Should take between 1 hour 20 to 1 hour 40 to get to Kirkcaldy. Edited September 26, 2012 by little_miss_jag
uberteeb
You also save a couple of quid if you buy a day return Glasgow - Haymarket and then Haymarket - Kirkcaldy although it's not a great saving compared to some other away trips. Pie Of The Month
I used to hate the Fife trips but Dunfermline and Kirkcaldy aren't too bad. The Novar is a cracking wee away day pub who make a genuine effort to get the fans in. Anyone know of an off license near the Novar or the ground? Need to get a few cans for the train back. There is one on the high street, there wasnt for a while and it was a nightmare trying to get a carry out from pubs but I'm sure there was one open again last season. Come out the Novar and walk towards the beautiful coastline, go left down the high street and there are a few boozers and an offie, not much of a detour on the way back to the station. brodieboy
Can't decide whether I'm going to this. My auld man is deserting me again! Anyone else making the journey from Stirling? Presumably about a 30 min drive from here? Edited September 26, 2012 by brodieboy
brodieboy
Ok maybe an hour...might not bother and save cash for the cup tie.
Lin1876
Considering I'm planning on going to Morton and the semi, I'll give this one a miss. If I still feel the need for football this weekend I'll go to a cup tie.
stillresigned
Can't go going to a wedding but I'll be there in spirit. I know I say this every week, but this will be a tough one and we need to be at our best, especially since Dunfermline under Fat Jim seem to be getting their act together. little_miss_jag
http://ptfc.co.uk/news/2012-2013/september_2012/tomorrows_prices Prices for tomorrow. Not exactly a cheap day out!
twinny
http://ptfc.co.uk/ne...omorrows_prices Prices for tomorrow. Not exactly a cheap day out! It's the same price as Firhill for an adult and only £1 more for students. It's less for Pensioners and the unemployed. Can't see how you can complain, unless of course you're bringing a bunch of kids with you

Lets hope Thistle win and make it worth every penny! The admission prices are actually pretty fair! Under 16 for me I think! http://ptfc.co.uk/te..._rovers/preview Match preview has both Welsh and Craig out but Doolan is back! Reminds me of my dad telling me how in the 70s he used to walk in through the u16 gate with a six pack of Tennents.
jagfox
Team for today? Fox O'Donnell Bannigan Paton Muirhead Archibald Erskiniho Elliot Doolaninho Murray Lawless GK and back four as usual with Shuggie sitting in front. Paton adding strength to the engine room with Lawless playing more of a free role. Doolaninho looking for goals.from the central position with Erskiniho and Linford patrolling the wings with a licence to cut inside and attack on the break. I feel Linford is better suited in a supporting or wide role for now. Both can help defend the wide areas as required. C'mon the Thistle
G SUS
I think it'll 1 in and 1 out from last week. Elliot OUT Doolan IN. Don't agree with it myself but i think it's what is most likely.
