Fistle1876
£10 to Greenock bit steep is it not? Train probably less than half that!
ian_mac
£10 to Greenock bit steep is it not? Train probably less than half that! The train is £6.50 - so you are incorrect. Also, have some respect. Running a supporters bus is getting tougher every year - we only have 2 or 3 left now. Try and hire a bus + driver yourself and see if you could do this particular journey any cheaper. Having travelled on this bus several times I can tell you that it's very well run. ian_mac
Pfft Only saying! Ur so easily offended! Not offended at all, I've got nothing to do with the Jordanhill bus. But I know it's not easy running a supporters bus and people having a dig about prices doesn't help.
Jackthejag
as a member of the bus, its a very good service getting to the destination at perfect times and for £105 for a student for all away games cant argue with that
Dr.D
Not offended at all, I've got nothing to do with the Jordanhill bus. But I know it's not easy running a supporters bus and people having a dig about prices doesn't help. Too true sport and it should also be mentioned that people running such buses also stand to risk massive fines if anyone is found to have alcohol in their possession on board while travelling. So guys give a little consideration for these dedicated convenors who stick their neck out for fellow supporters. We're really indebted to you guys. Lambies Lost Doo
This is one of those topics where if you don't have anything positive to say then don't say it. Supporters buses keep the Away support going, are a good laugh and get you from A to B taking out a lot of the hassle as the people who organise them take all that hassle to themselves. jagfox
Nice to see 6 buses up at Kirkcaldy. A successful team will hopefully have a knock on effect for the buses. Would be nice if the club could contribute something towards the cost of the trip to Cowdenbeath, just an out loud thought.

Hmm, I can't remember PTFC ever, ever contributing towards the cost of supporters' buses, even for big games. Other clubs have done it for matches at Firhill, though. But because the team is doing so well, I don't feel like complaining at the moment!
Blackpool Jags
£12 a head to Cowdenbeath sounds very reasonable and, as has been said, takes all the hassle out of getting to the game and back. I'm consulting my wee mob on this atm.

ian_mac
I've been told the club has contributed before. They definitely have, on more than one occasion I think. Pretty sure that the play-off semi away to Stranraer in 2006 was one of those occasions.

Norgethistle
Remember all the buses we used to have Maryhill, North West, South Side, Milngavie, City Centre, Cumbernauld , and some of these buses regularly taking 2 coaches. Just shows how our support has changed At times when the team, games and weather could all be poor the Maryhill bus was always a riot and often better than the actual game

To be fair, the same trend probably applies to other teams too, as more and more people either travel by car, or don't travel at all. Just shows how our support has changed At times when the team, games and weather could all be poor the Maryhill bus was always a riot and often better than the actual game The North West bus, which left from the top of Kirkland St in the late 60s, was a great experience, even if we were only going to games like Morton Dumbarton, St Mirren etc. Best NW bus 'performance' was when the elders of the bus 'kept at bay' a huge squad of Killie skinheeds who tried to storm the bus after we'd thrashed them 4-1 at their midden a few months after the great league cup win. Lambies Lost Doo
Hopefully there will be a return of buses if/when we get to the final. Fingers crossed. Never seen us in a final before and missed the semi-final against the TAFKAR (The Artist Formerly Known As Rangers) as I was in USA.

Only 3 of them were supporters busses, one was the team bus and the others were for the nearby rugby match
jagfox
Oh well. Anyway despite a first league defeat and a dispiriting Scotland performance, bus booked for tomorrow. Forza Thistle
