Just been having a look through our Directors LinkdIn Profiles and would you believe, Brian Donald, Director of Partick Thistle, amongst his other interests, list himself as Business Director of SitexOrbis...

A quick google search of "SitexOrbis Partick Thistle" throws up this wee gem:

Now i am sure that this went out to tender and SitexOrbis won the contract as being the best suited and cheapest for the job.

I'm kinda old school where the football club chairman was the local butcher/baker (I've never met a candlestick maker). Lo and behold we can all guess whose pies were sold at the game. As long as the pies weren't bowfin' nobody seemed to complain or mention tendering etc.

I'd therefore be a bit hypocritical to start questioning our property regeneration specialist as long as the condition of our stadium isn't bowfin'. Oops!

Amistha holding purchased them on 12/12/13, can't see any director named Brian Donald - might be missing something or he was maybe one of the directors prior to take over / only saying !

Orbis > About Us > Company Board

Company Board

Layton Tamberlin – Acting MD

Richard Sanders – Director

John McNeil – Non-Executive Director

Peter Selkirk – Non-Executive Director

Robin Miller – Chairman

After a period of uncertainty during a Competition Commission process, SitexOrbis was acquired in February 2013 by a consortium of experienced, patient and well-funded private individuals focused on ensuring a period of stability and growth over the next ten years. Over the past year, the organisation restructured to focus on its regional business, and won several key pieces of new business.

It is entirely possible that the tendering process was quite proper and the lowest bidder was a director doing the club a favour. Let's not get sidetracked from the North Stand issue.

That's what I was thinking. If his company were capable of doing a good job, and gave the club a good discount then what's the problem?

As BowenBoys has said, don't get sidetracked from the more important issue.
