  1. Several SPL teams have taken players from lower English leagues, reflecting managerial contacts down there. Has Archie or anyone else connected to Thistle got these contacts to get decent players up here? Is Tidser available? I'd sign him. I'd also take Harkins back.
  2. I wasn't at the Airdrie game - I was in London visiting daughter. I was coming up from Greenwich in a river taxi and my mobile said that we were losing at 87 minutes. We landed and went into a bar. Almost reluctantly I looked at my phone again. WTF, we've won 2-1. Cue leaping about by the old feller and my wife and daughter trying to disown me. I even was a bit teary. We cracked a feckin good bottle then I can tell you.
  3. Where did all the fans come from? It was brilliant. Onward and upward.
  4. Was it Charlie Richmond who said yesterday that Scottish refs have bottomed out - no better or no worse. His punditry reflects his refereeing- awful. If the comments from all supporters in Pie and Bovril is anything to go by, Scottish refs and their pals with flags are so inconsistent/incompetent.
  5. Yup, but as a life-long Swans supporter I'm biased.
  6. I agree with most comments. We were second best for most of the game with few players gaining pass marks, but they looked tired and Archie and Shaggy will need all their experience to prepare them for Sunday and Wednesday. Who should play alongside Balatoni against Morton? McMillan, Dowie, Archie? If Paton is out we need someone to anchor midfield.
  7. He's admitted his interest in Paul Paton. At worst tapping up a player, at best unsettling our captain and my player of the season. No class.
  8. There's a suggestion on the BBC website that Masterton will seek voluntary administration
  9. The Cowden website is asking for volunteers, and to bring their own shovels and even wheelbarrows. What are the chances of the game going ahead?
  10. Even if you were C***DIFF fans, welcome up, and Croso i'r Firhill i weld y Thistle ardderchog. Thistle's Swans supporter.
  11. The consecutive 6-1 and 5-0 home defeats against Gretna and St Johntone under the Uncle Fester regime come to mind. The 2-1 loss against Alloa on that freezing night also still makes me shudder, and the 3-1 against Ayr (thanks Billy McDonald). We should enjoy the wins even more.
  12. And Swansea City are a Welsh team to boot.
  13. Well done Archie. Let's hope that the curse of the award doesn't happen and we don't lose our next game.
  14. What about Gus Caesar? Great name, but a complete fud.
  15. Peter Lindau, Juan Ramon Escalas?
  16. What about a slight change in direction, and nominate the worst ref? I'd kick off with Brian Cassidy. whenever I saw his name in the programme my heart sank and I knew we were in a for a long afternoon of incompetence.
  17. Best: Harkins or Shaggy Worst: Either Callaghan sisters - Willie and Tommy. Which was which?
  18. Paton has been immense this season. He's what the team needs. He isn't Beckham, which is why he plays for Thistle, not United, Real Madrid, A.C. Milan or PSG. He keeps things simple and supports others. All of the squad have done really well this season, so lay off knocking any of them.
  19. I didn't think when he first arrived that I would see Conrad playing with such composure and authority. All of the back four were born in the 90s, so they have long careers ahead of them, and can only get better. It would have been much more than 1-0 if their keeper hadn't made 3 or 4 great saves, but he's there for that. Apart from their number 9, Hamilton looked poor. Bring on the Airdrie.
  20. What about John Collins? He would have contacts to sign even more French players than Newcastle.
  21. Yup. I can bask in Premier League football down there, and hopefully the same up here next season.
