  1. Once complete ******s get control they make sure no one even slightly more competent (or honest) than them ever gets near the levers of power (that would show them up). So the only way things can go is from complete ******s to ultra complete ******s. They got control decades ago and just continue to get worse.
  2. I did a course on IT decades ago ('95) and I recall a topic 'Human computer interaction' which was all about making systems logical and natural for users, i.e. simple to use. It still appears that lots of companies can't be bothered to ensure this in their systems. (Not getting a brilliant pass, I ended up in IT Training thus proving the old adage, though lots of computer companies seem to try to disprove it).
  3. Hibs did well this season but St Johnstone showed up their limitations and perhaps showed that Davidson could be a manager to be reckoned with. A medium sized club with medium finances winning two of the three big trophies in one season is a far more impressive feat than one of the Old Firm winning the league, especially when the other half throws in the towel before half way. Not that what goes for sports journalists in this country will ever admit it. There was no luck involved either, well deserved.
  4. Hard to see we could afford him unless we were offering a coaching role but I think we have enough coaches.
  5. Agree 100%. Although Doncaster is an incompetent creep. he is only there because people with influence in Scottish Football put him there (and pay him a big bonus even when he fails). I'd say it's mainly directors of the Old Filth and a few other top level clubs (but a few lower level clubs too unfortunately) who back him and he is just their mouth piece and deflection shield. He has failed to get a sponsor for the league, was a disaster over Covid and sees no other way to promote Scottish Football except through the Old Filth and therefore protects them no matter how badly they or their fans behave. Yet they still give him a bonus; that tells you his real job is not to better football in this country. Phew, rant over.
  6. I think you have forgotten the player he was in the Premier league, particularly in the season he got his really bad injury. Even a bit off form Bannigan is a decent player. This season he's been better than he's been for a while and in a few games resembled the old Bannigan; I think part of this has been down to Docherty who does the holding midfield role better than Bannigan and allows him to play with more freedom. Comparing Bannigan and Docherty is apples and bananas: Docherty is better in the holding role and Bannigan better and more creative going forward. But Docherty can also be creative and Bannigan can dig in so they can cover for each other, in fact I think they complement each other. When one is missing or carrying a knock, the team is a little off, when both are the team can struggle. So I think we need someone who can come in if either is injured not sure if Penrice can do it though he's certainly an option.
  7. I would imagine it would be tough developing kids during the pandemic. Hope it's not damaged our youth system much.

  9. Stuart McPherson is my nom-de-plume when disguised as a human (I am really a giant, deceased rabbit) . No football interest in my family but we lived near St George's Cross up to when I was 12 and my best mate for a while supported the Jags, so I did too being a bit younger and always following his lead. His grandpa took us both to see my first Jags game. I'm 70 now which doesn't seem right and I note how many who've replied are on the elderly side. Good to hear the odd mention of children and grandchildren being brought up to see the light.
  10. I vaguely remember years ago there were complaints when Aberdeen suggested they might play a bunch of youngsters against Celtic in a league match. They did so and they beat Celtic! (Don't know how vague or otherwise that is).
  11. Although McCall said 5 players shouldn't have played, they've had a break now with Saturday off (4 days break) so it's possible one or two of the players mentioned will turn out after all so we needn't play too weakened a team. I reckon though game time ought to be given to the likes of Lyons as suggested by poster above. If fans had been allowed at the game I think he might have started with the team that won on Thursday and then made subs; but then again if fans had been allowed we'd all have been at Firhill to see it. Probably something like one of the teams suggested here will start but with maybe one of the 'knackered' players maybe recovered enough to start.
  12. That's seen in that we still have a spine of a team for next season regardless of who re-signs. The following guys are signed up to May 2022: Brownlie, McKenna, O'Ware; Senna (2023), Bannigan, Docherty, Lyons, Murray; Graham and Rudden. So, a good spine and a couple of wingers. Don't think we will lose any of them unless a team's willing to pay us a fee - we got promoted after all. Hopefully, some of the main players who are out of contract will re-sign also: Sneddon, Penrice, etc. Would love to see Tiffoney sign for us but the problem with him doing so well for us is his current club may think he's worth them retaining. Still McCall has shown himself capable of digging out a useful player or two.
  13. Would say that the second lock down helped us in letting us get key players fit again - especially Rudden - and Bannigan looked more like his old self soon after the restart. Of course the first lockdown and the SPFL's response to it damaged us badly. But that in a way makes it sweeter we triumphed in the end.
  14. We're playing a team 2 divisions above us and the manager has picked a more defensive line-up (McKenna for Wiliamson, Foster for Penrice, Graham up front is best atm at holding the ball up with Gordon hopefully having energy to support him while still covering in midfield. Makes sense though it always depends on the attitude of the team from the start - they will be to good for us to afford the usual sleepy first ten minutes or so.
  15. Taking our league position out of it, a draw against (then) top team with ten men is a good result. Our problem isn't games like this, it's like 2 home games against lower half opposition and 5 points dropped. We really can't afford that.
  16. No big striker to challenge for the occasional cross we get in. Maybe if all even with 15 mins to go put on a big lad (Niang?) even if not a forward.
  17. Grown into the game. Getting the ball through midfield and on the wings now instead of aimless launches Murray hasn't a chance with.
  18. Murray looking lost up front and getting no support. Need to change that before they score.
  19. How about Foster up front - apparently he's played every position in his career. Have to say, though, though Lyons ought to get a start myself. That and Senna in for Docherty though maybe it's a matter of experience for that position. Apart from that our midfield looks OK but not sure about up front - if Foster is CF maybe he can rummle the defence up but can he hold the ball to bring others into the game? We'll find out.
  20. Part of the "experience" of going to a match is the being part of the crowd, moaning or cheering and chatting with guys you see at the games at half time. And of course the post-match pint at a game. Although I still retain just enough interest in football to watch a game my man reason for going is to actually catch up with guys I only see occasionally away from football.
  21. I think the problem is he does audio commentaries and doesn't realise you don't need to describe everything (or mis-describe it) minute by minute when you're on video.
  22. Game management needs to be better but we really needed that win and good to get it with 2 good goals. For the first time, streaming worked well for me (on laptop). I noticed there were 3 extra video links, I presume if 1 link broke down you could try another.
  23. Some shots from us, just none on target. Only following on text but sounds a dire game. Need a shake-up at half time.
  24. I try to sign in and it doesn't recognise my account - though it pops it up so I can see it! Then I try to register (thinking maybe it's different from the account I buy my season ticket on and my browser is somehow picking up those details and displaying them) and I put in my details in but press continue and nothing happens. Pish kind of system. Some folk might be managing OK but if you have a problem it doesn't give a bit of help. Will be giving this a miss --- hope season ticket access to streamed games is better than this or I might be demanding a refund.
  25. Look like PTFC stream back on just in time for half time
