Well done Jaggernaut!!

:smartass:

Gibb was a class act for us.

And of course he went on to become a legend at Newcastle.

Has he ever been back at Firhill since he retired (he apparently returned to Scotland)?

Tommy played in the final games of the old Inter City Fairs Cup that Newcastle won in 1969, beating Oldco on their way to the final, IIRC.

When he finished playing, he went back to Armadale to run a pub for a decade or so, and then was involved in the haulage business. Sadly he injured his back, and took early retirement.

One of the Newcastle players in their cup winning squad was one Allan Foggon. No truth in the rumour that he was the inspiration for a Lindisfarne hit song."

"Foggon the Tyne its all mine all mine......"      :icon_headfones:

What a great pic!

I thought it was Joe Craig at first. Tommy Gibb was one of my faves. Was gutted when he went to Newcastle but pleased he made a wee bit of money!

Did he get a Fairs Cup Winners medal?

I recall that killie strip. They should revert.

He must have got a medal, having played in both legs of the final and also in earlier matches.

So should we!
