marco77
Seen that he was taken off after 10 minutes against Dumbarton. McCall doesnt seem too impressed with his "injury" and confirms he will be back in January. Not sure if his loan move has worked out for either party. JeanieD
Just watched that - and the highlights - 2 things sprung to mind: Managers who speak honestly Dumbarton in red and black?!?!?!?! Entertaining though!
Weebaw1
He didn't set the heather on fire at Ayr but it won't have done him any harm. He knows what is expected now. He should return to u20's and score goals, then return to the 1st team squad for next season.
twinny
Bumped into McCall today and had a wee chat with him, seemed in a good mood, said he was coming to the game tonight and seemed very proud of Erskine and Doolan.
elevenone
As one starlet returns soon another departs on loan. James Penrice to East Fife until end of season. Good luck James.
Lindau
That's a good move for James. He is stuck in that hole of probably being too good for the development side but badly needing experience of a lower level of football to toughen him up a bit
Jaggernaut
Sounds like the ideal deal for Penrice, East Fife, and us. If Booth gets injured/suspended, we know that Christie can do a competent job at left back. Edited December 30, 2016 by Jaggernaut

Jag
I wonder if Archie will have enough confidence in Nisbet to give him a run in the team when he returns or if he will still look to bring another striker in next month? McCall seemed less than pleased with him in that interview. Any time I have seen Nisbet though he has impressed me. Don't know if he can make the step up yet but certainly looks ready physically. I know an Ayr United fan and he told me that one week he looked brilliant, the next he didn't look interested. Perhaps attitude could have upset McCall? AlgarveJag
...I know an Ayr United fan and he told me that one week he looked brilliant, the next he didn't look interested. Perhaps attitude could have upset McCall? I have no idea about the attitude of Kevin Nisbet, positive or negative so this this about young players in general and not anyone specifically. However, I wonder if a program designed to assist younger players in considering the missed opportunity that will result from not applying themselves or putting themselves in a position where someone might, allegedly, spike your drink, for example, or decide on the bookies over the golf course or training ground might help young starlets. I'd put Chic Charnley forward as a mentor for that program. In his interview on the Peter and Roughie show he was adamant that while Lambie got the best out of him he only had himself to blame for not fulfilling his undoubted talent by playing at the highest level. We use 'older' players to coach football skills but what about a proper mentoring structure that might start at the Thistle Weir Academy?
lady-isobel-barnett
As it stands, I think Christie would remain at RB with Ziggy taking LB. Most likely. I know Elliott played left side v Celtic but that I imagine was mainly from a defensive point of view to help Booth out with a right side.
AlgarveJag
Great highlights- funny watching Cairney, Harkins and Balatoni with Ryan Stevenson nicking the equaliser at the end. Nice to see both managers being interviewed and straight talking. Edited December 31, 2016 by AlgarveJag
