cheese
Got a mate who works for Scotrail who says that this train will be cancelled next Saturday due to signal repairs that morning. He's advised that it's a good idea to check other trains to get. Just wanted to make you all aware. Many thanks, Cheese
potty trained
Thanks for the heads up. I know quite a few folk who have went for the later train. The hard-core are going on the half 8ish train.
Vaila Street
If true that's a blow. Next train doesn't get in until 2 and no way am I trusting Scotfail with that one. Virgin to Carlisle then back to Dumfries is another option.

Big Dave
I got in touch with a pal who drives trains. There are no works on that line scheduled and the train is running as normal.
lady-isobel-barnett
Not that I particularly trust them but the Scot Rail website is taking bookings as per normal for the 10.13 and the SR engineering works page isn't flagging anything up. Maybe you could check with your mate again, cheese?
Blackpool Jags
Torn between train from Preston to Carlisle (Blackpool to Preston lines subject to closure till April due to electrification) then train/bus to Dumfries, and motor. It will come down to the agonising preference of convenience v swally. Either way, Monni Theeeeesel. Intaerrum.

Charlie Endell
I think the OP might have wanted to ensure he got a seat... It sounded a load of shite.
Vaila Street
No away tickets on sale on the day apparently and the terracing not open. I'd love to hear the logic behind this. Shambles written all over it.
jags on tour
It’s all ticket but its unallocated seating, there’s going to be some argy bargy when folk can’t sit together....

Fortunately there's no random seat number on the ticket (as is common and confusing when it's sit anywhere) so no foreseeable problem. king of spain
Well that scuppers my plans to come up for the game. Easy enough for somone to take one down for you or they do post them out also.
Vaila Street
Easy enough for somone to take one down for you or they do post them out also. Or they could just open up the terracing rather than discouraging potential attendees.

But I do have to commit now, however I won't know if I can make it until Friday night/Saturday morning. I had been planning on a pay at the gate. I'll save it for Brechin or Fraserburgh in the next round

I had been planning on a pay at the gate. I'll save it for Brechin or Fraserburgh in the next round Fraserburgh, a top contender for drug capital of Britain. Will look like they're holding a junkie convention up there this weekend. DD, assuming we don't sell out our allocation you could phone Maxie and explain your situation. Common enough occurrence to arrange to pick up a ticket on the day. Seems a shame that you'd miss out on a relatively short journey.
Vaila Street
We havent even sold our allocation yet. Sold out now and the strange scenario where there's no away cash gate for a ground at most a third full. I assume Thistle / QoS underestimated the number of once a year day trippers intending to attend.
