Thanks for your response and clarification Jim. Particularily your last paragraph, and also your acknowledgement that "putting on a simple commercial head the disadvantages of Newco outweigh the advantages".

Ditto on this.

Any chance you could give DB a call just now and convey your words of these posts and get him to act as you suggest he should, and put all this speculation, distrust and uncertainity to bed once and for all?

Hope your balls have recovered, it wasn't personal.

Here, here

Ah the Jags Trust. Been meaning to suggest that here is a moment of opportunity for them in the offing should our Board have voted for the Gers. (please please no!)

If they show some spark they could give notice to Scotland that it wasn't PTFC fans who did this but rather yet another misguided Board. They'll understand and perhaps be more inclined to come to Firhill if only to join in on our abuse?? :innocent2: Either way we need to make sure PTFC fans and team don't get kicked around.

and yes I've just checked the OS again.

from the annan athletic website

We were delighted to hear the unanimous response from all ten 1st Division clubs who stated that they are only interested in a 42 club resolution (for any CEO’s or others who are unsure what that means, bluntly it is stick SPL2 where the sun don’t shine and do not even attempt to pull a 16 team stunt move, another scenario that wouldn’t astonish us is for Rangers to be invited back into the SPL – to think we were threatened with Armageddon! We do however have faith that the SPL chairmen, the guys that matter, will invite Dundee or Dunfermline into the SPL and through all our combined efforts we will see a 42 team resolution to restructuring and the many other changes we all wish to see happening.

I'm relieved that the club have clarified the matter (although it's a shame it was left to Maxwell rather than the board statement not saying it in the first place) but I'm annoyed at the Record.

Left unchecked the fallout from this could've cost the club money from both home and away fans staying away and an apology is the least we should expect.

The Record make a big play of how they always aim for accuracy and will print corrections if they make a mistake, here are the details fro their online edition:

"At the Daily Record, we do our best to correct errors or publish clarifications as soon as possible. Our journalists adhere to the Editors' Code of Practice, which sets the benchmark for standards.

If we do slip up, we will set the record straight on this page in a clear, no-nonsense manner. To ask for an inaccuracy to be corrected, all you have to do is: Phone 0141 309 3000, email [email protected] or write to The Editor, Daily Record, One Central Quay, Glasgow G3 8DA.

The Press Complaints Commission (PCC) is the independent body which governs the newspaper industry. The Code of Practice and details of how to lodge a complaint is available from Halton House, 20/23 High Holborn, EC1N 2JD. Website www.pcc.org.uk or email [email protected]. Telephone 020 7831 0022. So lets all email them and demand a full apology! This is something which could seriously damage our club!

So who did vote YES?

Come out, come out, where ever you are !

I still fancy one of the clubs that intimated they would vote yes and declared they didn't on their website. Also instinct tells me never to trust Dundee FC.

Just a wee thingy about Falkirk FC. Assuming Pressley is their mouthpiece or at least sings from the same hymn sheet then their big gripe is for league reconstruction. That in itself would be admirable but not if they voted yes to sevco to try and achieve that aim. I hope I'm doing them an injustice.
