simoncordiner
10 mins to go. 3-2 up and playing well. Erskine's finding more and more space. Higginbotham is playing a blinder and full of confidence. Taylor is holding the ball up well. Replaces all three of them unnecessarily. Archie, you don't need to make substations if you don't need to make substitutions.

The Cup
I hope that's not talk of Archie doing anything to cost us points. That isn't allowed on here.
Gibberish
Nothing to do with subs, as usual total collapse of most nervous defence in the league, subs as anyone that knows a bit were certainly not brought on to shore up the defence
The Cup
The subs upset the balance of the team. Craigen must give good gammies to keep getting onto the pitch.
thistledave78
The subs upset the balance of the team. 3 subs in 5 mins is going to do this. Why change it if its not broken! Attacking threat gone as soon as higgy and erskine off!
simoncordiner
I didn't say he put on the players to shore up the defence. But he took off the key players that were keeping Motherwell on the back foot. Totally changed the game.
The Cup
Where would we be in the league if it wasn't for all the times we've thrown away a lead? At least 9 points and a few places better off.
JeanieD
St Mirren Ross C and Killie lost so I suppose that helps - cup half full?
Yellow & Redneck
There was no tactical advantage in those subs at all, they were all like-for-like changes that did nothing to sure up the game. Any sensible manager would have taken off Bannigan when he got booked with 10mins to go, as last time it happened he was sent off.

avie-man
Cheers to Christie Elliott for the two goals against Airdrie, but he is hopeless and continually plays even ahead of Lawless who has contributed good stuff at times. Same for Craigen, don't rate him at all. The change in team bringing those two on for Erskine and Higginbotham was drastically poor.
Jaggernaut
Can the loss of the third and fourth goals today really be attributed to the appearance of Elliott and/or Craigen? Did they make any errors that led to the goals? Did they give the ball away? Fail to get in a crucial tackle? How come we lost those goals? avie-man
So what happened for the first two goals that we lost? We had enough of a threat on the field to counteract that.

Sick of it Equally sick of the doom and gloom merchants who aren't even at the game most of the time.
Jaggernaut
What exactly are the issues and problems? Most people were saying that Gallacher brought more confidence than Fox, that Mair had brought solidity and experience to the central defence, that we now had a real gem in midfield in Fraser, that Bauben was going to be a class act, that Erskine would light up the side again….. All these guys started today, and we still haven't won; we've just shipped another 4 goals from a team that put 5 past us not so long ago. Genuine question: what do people think are the issues and problems?

LE BGM
The one change I would have made was take McMillan off, didn't think he played well at all today. Just seen the goals on sky, he appears to lose his man for the last two goals. Motherwell there for the taking today.

Jaggernaut
It's down to the manager But what are the issues? Motivating the players? Tactics? In defence, midfield, attack? The way we (try to) play the game? Substitutions? Take your pick.
