  1. At the risk of being super pendantic. I have held a Thistle Season ticket, sometimes, but not all the time (I am quite old). For several years, my family and I have 'paid at the gate'. I do not see myself, nor my family, as lesser supporters because of that. The people that come through the gate, and the excetera's of extras, are all more than welcome to my Firhill. I frankly don't get this new division of pay at the gate and season ticket holders. Just out of curiosity, what would the 'gate' be if it was limited to season ticket holders? That, it seems to me is an unjustifiable snobbery. And, probably a death knell for the club. No growth, no future. And absolutely no Jag fan should be happy to be called a snob!
  2. Well, Bowen Boys, I think that everybody in the JTF should take a deep breath before they enter into a deal like that. To be as clear as I can, I want PTFC to be a fan owned club.
  3. Just wonder whether you do think the last minute loans are positive or not?
  4. Thanks for the link. At the tail end of that highly entertaining Jim Melrose reminisces, it said that they are doing more with other ex players. Anyone know where they can be watched?
  5. I am douglas clark. Keeps it simple.
  6. Well, I feel more or less the same. Smug, not exactly. Satisfied? You bet Smile on my face? Oh! you got to believe it! I'd think that this is astonishing. Quite an amazing turnaround. Luckly to support PTFC.
  7. I thought we fought pretty impressively. That was a pretty hard game and. apart from the interesting idea that we will top this league, we got an away point. So I assume it all depends on our game against Falkirk. Is that even the consensus around here? Is it even true?
  8. I am quite astonished at the turn -a- round over the last month or so. I thought we had become a 'seaside' league club what with the canal and such like. I am now quite excited that we might actually win this division. It was only recently that I started to buy pay to view, and whilst nowhere near the excitement of actually being at a game I felt, at the very least, connected. This football club will always remain 'special' to me and it's attempts to retain, through pay to view, at least a link, has been impressisve. It seems to me that, whilst in almost perpetualyl struggles to survive, it does just that.s Perhaps with better luck, we might thrive after this season. Just saying. Y'know. Hopeful like.
  9. Or even partickthe dog. Apologies.
  10. patrickthedog, Thanks for that. M y memory is, ahem, bad. Or worse!
  11. Perhaps this has been answered elsewhere on this forum, if so excuse my poor googling skills. When was the last time we won 5-0 in a league game?
  12. I seem to recall that Sena, elsewhere, had a lot of respect for Gerry Britton and the fact that we were willing to pursue his registration process when other's would not? The guy comes across as having been on a bit of a roller coaster ride. I, personally, hope he goes on to do great things.
  13. If I won the lottery, I would give the club over to a hand picked bunch of lawyers and accountants whose only aim would be get us back to the top level of Scottish Football.
  14. Perhaps, if you had just announced your new web site and invited folk to visit, you wouldn't have looked like such a plonk? Just saying.
  15. Jaggernaut,

Please desist from the Hitler stuff. You could get this web site into trouble and I don't want that. ( I am a moderator.) Protection our right to talk about stuff does not include your right to bring a lot of crap down on us.

Incidentally, I suggest you need to read more history about Hitler's rise to power. He was most certainly not democratically elected.  If you want to argue he was, please go elsewhere.

  16. May I ask? Why does: "2) Even if the SPFL resolution (authorising ending the Premier season early and actually ending the other seasons early) is annulled by a court it doesn’t help Thistle. It just forces the SPFL to revisit the matter. " Revisiting the matter may well be the point. No?
  17. For goodness sake. We have, at least three players that we are likely to lose to Premier Clubs. Not necessarily as 'first choices' in their teams but.. at least as substitutes. You all know who they are. This is likely to be a fire sale. This is a terribly sad time. No income, no squad and a rebuilding from the bottom up. The only thing the club has is you. And me. Lets keep supporting the club! Let's make the best of this.
  18. Auld Jag, "Thanks to Thistle for the offer of a partial refund. I will not be taking them up in this offer as my small way of helping the club. " I am currently a 'pay at the gate' fan. But I'd expect that very few season ticket holders will want a refund. It is folk such as you that are the heart and soul of this football club. The genuine support that folk have given is quite overwhelming.
  19. Me too. I will buy that, I would like it it in grandchildren sizes too! You are doing great work!
  20. My alternative: Wait until COVID - 19 had passed and things are back to normal, no matter when the 'all-clear' is given. Continue this season to it's eventual outcome. Which might well take us to December. Play a shortened 'home' and 'away' (once only) season in the Winter of 2020/21, Spring of 2021. Let these results also stand. All fixed for a full season in 2021/22. Any thoughts?
  21. May I suggest that our goalkeeper merely stands up, rather that diving right or left? As his anticipation appears to be always wrong, perhaps he should tell his anticipation that it is always wrong? Standing still might have saved a few more penalties than his current nonsense. The man needs to break with his beliefs and save at least one penalty, once.
  22. You banned my last post?

    Wow!

      Douglas,
I haven't banned anything. I sent  an email to your personal email account.

      Tom

  23. Were you and I not supposed to have a pow-wow?

Here is my e-mail address: for any other ways of you communicating with me have obviously failed.

  24. Could you set up a place where I could talk to you off - line?   Frankly you need to talk to anyone, not just me, about powers you assume we have, but don't, and what you are going to do about it.  Your 'complaint' about having your meal in NYC interrupted would be more convincing if you had dealt with devolving authority.  Which you haven't done to my immediate knowledge.

You need a fora for folk like me who work on this site to ask you questions. They are not onerous, they are obvious, but require your steer.

    Please provide that.

Fair enough Tom. You probably thought, as did I, that this site is worth saving.  And we both put our names forward. And then we went "Wow!", we have been given a live hand grenade.

So, I am in an exactly the same position as you.

I do not understand how this site is supposed to work and frankly how it works. (For instance, I haven't a clue whether this is being read by you alone, you and other moderators, or the entire membership. Neither do I understand what my role is supposed to be. I thought I knew what a moderator was, but apparently not. )

I would be happy to meet you. I am not at all reluctant to do so.  And will do so, if you want. Maryhill as a place, anytime.  Your call.  Not 19th Dec before 17:00 otherwise.....

But, perhaps a subsequent meeting should be a tad wider than that?

It seems to me that a lot of people care about this web-site and the invite should extend to anyone that regularily contributes on here?

Can we try to move this forward?

  25. Well, at least explain your complaint. As it stands you have no arguement?
