He worked (owned?) for a confectionery factory and was known to regularly hand out sweeties post match to the the sports hacks and journos in attendance. The last thing he'd do before leaving the dressing room and sauntering down the tunnel was to grind out his last ciggie for 45 minutes on the floor. In later years he all but gave up training. Jim preferred a workout on the massage table - fags to hand - whilst his Hearts team mates went about the hard work . A lovely fella'...
