Dick Dastardly
No own goals then? But that does bring another daft question for a wet Saturday with no game on. Player who have scored for and against us, but never played for us ! The Jukebox Rebel
No own goals then? Only a solidarity debit on the current books and that belongs to big Freddy, with that howler at Fir Park several weeks back. But that does bring another daft question for a wet Saturday with no game on. Player who have scored for and against us, but never played for us ! (ie scored against us and also got an own goal) I can't think of any off the top of my head Before Deuchar, there's been Scott McLaughlin, Todd Lumsden and Paul Simpson in the last decade or two. Former Jag, Eric Paton, also did the deed without the need of a Thistle shirt. Notably Colin Murdock did it in the same game - a 2-1 Wednesday evening Thistle victory at Easter Road in May, 2004. The Jukebox Rebel
Thistle have never registered 3 consecutive clean-sheets against Dundee United in the League. allyo
There was talk on the radio that this is only the second time in about 30 years that Thistle have recorded three successive top league wins. But I reckon we did it late last season (Motherwell, Ross Co, St Mirren). So I'm wondering, when did we last do it twice in the same year? The Jukebox Rebel
12.12.2015 Dundee United 0 Partick Thistle 1 (SPFL Premiership - game 17) Thistle register 3 consecutive League clean sheets vs. Dundee United for the first time ever. Thistle equal several H2H records vs. Dundee United, most notable of which is 3 consecutive competitive wins over them, last achieved more than 50 years ago. Kris Doolan is the first Jag to net in three consecutive top-flight games since James Grady, who did 4-in-a-row in May 2005. During the course of this campaign Kris Doolan has moved from 21st to joint 15th in the all-time competitive goals chart. 14th placed Dougie Somner (on 83) is now firmly in his sights. This is history in the making! Archie's Jags register 3 consecutive top-flight victories for the second time in 2015 - no mean feat considering we've only ever had 3 such runs of 3 since December '78 onwards! Bertie's Jags were last to go beyond this point, winning 4-in-a-row in October 1977. Thistle register their first competitive victory in the away strip since the truly magnificent 2-1 triumph at home to Cove Rangers 3 years, 1 month and 9 days ago. Kris Doolan scored that day too. Obviously. In the "all-games" category, Archie started his managerial career with 12 away games unbeaten in 2013, and followed that with a 10 game stretch unbeaten away from home in 2014. There was a further all-game run of 7 away unbeaten in 2015. The current run of 4 away games unbeaten should therefore come as no great surprise to anyone. League progression at the end of next Saturday's game would mean that, for the first time since October 1977, Thistle had moved upwards in the top-flight table 4 games-in-a-row. ongoing sequences: 4 competitive away games without defeat, 17th Oct 2015 to date. 21 competitive games without defeat when we score the opening goal, 23rd Sep 2014 to date. 28 consecutive competitive appearances for Callum Booth, 14th Mar 2015 to date. (Longest run since: Stephen O'Donnell - 29 games; 8th Nov 2014 to 23rd May 2015. Club record: Johnny Jackson - 313 games; 28th Aug 1926 to 25th Mar 1933.) 55 competitive games without a penalty award, 19th Sep 2014 to date. 73 competitive games without a goal from a penalty, 22nd Feb 2014 to date.

lady-isobel-barnett
Looking at the goalscorer stats above I note Andy Kerr scored in three consecutive games where his goal (s) were vital to the win. Saving us from a draw twice and a defeat once. I reckon Andy wouldn't be a popular figure with our opponents.
Veejag
How many games did it take Somner to reach 83 goals? How does Doolan compare? I realise it's a totally different game these days. Always remember Richie Benaud congratulating Shane Warne on equalling his wicket tally. Warne was quick to point out it had taken him twice as many matches to reach Benaud's record. Benaud, typically, just blushed.
The Jukebox Rebel
As a reminder, my definition of competitive action 1876 to date has no tournament omissions... Anglo-Scottish Cup; ARR Craib Cup; Challenge Cup; Coull Memorial Trophy; Drybrough Cup; Emergency Cup; Exhibition Cup; FA Cup; Gathering of the Clans Tournament; Glasgow & District Mid-Week League; Glasgow Charity Cup; Glasgow Cup; Glasgow Dental Cup; Glasgow League; Greenock Charity Cup; Ibrox Disaster Tournament; Inter City League; Inter-Cities Fairs Cup; Inter-Toto Cup; July Cup; League Cup; League Play-Offs; Lord Provost's Rent Relief Fund Cup; Maryhill Charity Cup; Motorola Cup; Paisley Charity Cup; Regional League, Western Division; Royal Standard and Grand National Halls Cup; Scottish Alliance; Scottish Cup; Scottish Football League; Scottish Premier League; Scottish Professional Football League; Scottish Qualifying Cup; Southern League Cup; Southern League; Spring Cup; St Mungo Cup; Stirling Charity Cup; Summer Cup; Tennent Caledonian Cup; UEFA Cup; Victory Cup; War Fund Shield; West Of Scotland Cup; Western League; Yoker Cup In competitive action, I’m fairly confident in saying that Dougie's 83rd came in his 203rd appearance (although I always dread the possibility of unearthing a substitution yet untold). For sure, Kris has bagged 81 after 254 appearances. At the time of his 83rd, Dougie had scored in 40.9% of his appearances. At the time of his 81st, Kris has scored in 31.9% of his. However, what’s extremely interesting in Kris’s case, is his goals to minutes ratio. I can only make an educated guess as to Dougie’s game time, due to a lack of substitutions data. From what I do know, I’d guess that he played an average somewhere in the region of 85 minutes per game. At the time of his 83rd, his goals to game time ratio would therefore be approximately one per 208 minutes. By contrast, Kris’s game time is way down at just 59½ minutes. His goals to minutes ratio sits at one per 186 minutes. You could swing the pendulum both ways in this comparison - Somner's exploits were predominantly top-tier, Doolan's second. Then again, Somner would hardly know what the definition of a lone striker was. It's a tricky one... I've long considered "the fearless Dougie" to be my favourite ever Thistle player. Still is. I'm serioulsy wondering if he'll still have that crown when the time comes for "first-touch Kris" to hang up the boots. Let's just call them two Thistle legends!
