topcat
Yes was talking about this last night. Fearful that the lad is crocked. Would be good to get a club update
mhs
Passed Banzo and Fraser outside St J on Saturday. Both in Thistle trackies and walking about. Not heard any proper update on fitness though! Have a feeling we won’t see either of them before the split.
northjag
Bannigan went to London this week to see the same specialist that did his first knee op. He was training with the under 20’s and the first team last week but he felt a bit of pain. Not sure when he will be back
stillresigned
Would love to see the boy back playing and fit. In my opinion one of our best in recent years. Would be so terribly sad if he had to retire?
flashman
Other than the short patch at the start of the season, crocked like Craig Gordon was, hopefully he can make a similar comeback.
Garscube Road End
IfBannigan doesn't come back this season will he get a new contract? I'm sure it's up this summer.
MonehJags
Its the same as Fraser. Its more in hope rather than expectation now to see these guys get back on the pitch. Will they be able to get back to anywhere near their best and play more than 10 games a season? Time will tell but I would say in Banzo's case its a tough call for Archie. We need quality reliable players who can have an impact and make a difference. I'm not so sure either of them can be that.
northjag
Update on banzo. He went to see the surgeon on Thursday. He has inflammation in his knee which is causing the pain. No surgery needed. He got an injection to settle the knee down. He will be out for 6 weeks. Should be back before the end of the season. Hope the club gives him an extended deal to prove his fitness like they did with Gary Fraser.
Barney Rubble
Serious question - what was causing the inflammation in the first place?
northjag
Think the inflamation is the after effects of the knee op. Also apparently he had a blood clot in his knee and loose tissue after the op
Barney Rubble
Thanks for the explanation. It does beg the question as to what clean-up checks went on after the original op, though.
Auld Jag
Fraser played for the development team in the 4-1 defeat to Hearts in midweek.Might see him back soon.

Jaggernaut
Sadly, I've arrived at the same conclusion. Same goes for Fraser, though with less sadness than for Bannigan. At the very most, a 6-month pay-for-play deal for Bannigan. Not in the matchday squad, no wages.
Auld Jag
Big couple of months coming up for both these players. If we are extending either of their contracts I don't think they should be any longer than 6 months.
Winter of '63
Thanks for the updates Northjag though it's a bit disappointing that the Club has again not provided any information on a player's recovery from injury. I think I have only seen Banzo play for about 20 minutes this season when he came on as a sub against Hearts...it was enough to remind me of his ability to link up the play with quick incisive passes. As a midfield talent, he is way ahead of Edwards, Barton & Osman...that is close to 2 seasons he has been out but if he comes back at anywhere near his previous form, he will be a major asset. Hoping to see an end to zero hours contracts in this country not propagating them.
