jagfox
Three games in and one point. Not good enough despite injuries to a raft of first teamers. We really need to show some attacking intent on Saturday. Would like to see Big Brian Graham back but Terry Ablade was probably one of the few positives from last week and he looks like a player who can get his fair share of goals in this league. Again, Doolan is still searching for the right balance in the middle of the park and it would be good to see how Casper gets on when played at right back. A lot of questions to be asked on how we are doing so far. Hopefully, the manager and his players can supply some answers tomorrow afternoon. Prediction: Jags 2 Spiders 🕷

Somebody asked Johnny if he would join back up with Morrissey, ala Oasis reuniting. He just posted a picture of Nigel Farage in response 😆
partickthedog
Trying to piece together a team from those available. 4-2-3-1 Roberts Nilsson Ashcroft O'Reilly Milne McBeth Turner Chalmers Ablade Fitzpatrick Graham Would love to have McBeth in the back 4, but not sure who would be left for midfield. Bannigan or Smith rather lightweight. Personally I would have Wasiri in the back 4 (his best position) in preference to Ashcroft, but guessing that Doolan will go with Ashcroft's experience. Ablade was so good last week, he seems the best option to start in the middle of the attacking midfield 3. Quite excited at the possibility of his combining with Fitzy and Chalmers if the latter 2 can bring their A game.

Yes indeed. Johnny Marr signed my Thistle history book.
fenski
Impossible to predict. There is very little between the teams in the league this year. Fingers crossed playing at home gives us a slight advantage.

jagfox
Just now, thornwoodjag said: What formation u going for here You can take your pick 😉 The Scottish pl'er can drop into the backline to make a 5-3-2 or 5-2-3. Nilsson and Milne providing width. He can go sitting in front of the back four or pushed into the middle of the park and you can have a 4-4-2, a 4-2-3-1 or even a 4-4-1-1. It certainly offers flexibility 👀😉

But as i said very flexible 11 who can transition into various formations as required. Were you hoping for jumpers for goalposts and a 2-3-5? 👀
Auld Jag
Imo we need to win this for two contrasting reasons. If we are going for top 4 we cannot afford to fall any further behind and if we don't win we could find we are a few points adrift at the bottom of the table. Also let's play everybody in their recognised position and with McBeth the management team need to decide what position is his best and stick with that, this is his first full season as a full time player it can't help if he is playing in defence one week and then midfield the next then back in defence. Hope that Ablade gets a start as has already been suggested.

King Kenny
James Lyon seems to play a prominent role in the pre matchday training video the club put out. Does it mean he'll start? Probably not but can't say I recall him featuring in many other videos. I'd give Nilsson a go at right back and drop Williams. Might be worth giving Smith a go on the right wing as well. Whatever team he picks, if we want any hope of winning this league then 3 points tomorrow is a must.

However I think with that Doolan needs to move to a 4-4-2. If I have one wish for tomorrows team selections its that we don't play Williams at rightback and Doolan doesn't do crazy things like playing leftbacks and rightbacks as wingers. Please just play players in their natural positions.
Fawlty Towers
Looks like being a nice day weather wise so if you want a refreshing drink before the game remember the Aitken Suite will be open. The Aitken Suite, located within the Colin Weir Stand, will be open as a supporters’ bar for the weekend’s game against Queen’s Park at the Wyre Stadium at Firhill. Open to home and away supporters, the family-friendly supporters’ bar will have food on offer with Boss Catering providing the pre-match grub from opening, at 12pm, until 2pm. This week The Jags Foundation directors Jack Carson and Caitlin Rose will be in the Aitken Suite from 1:30pm handing out Junior Member wristbands and taking enquiries from supporters who are interested in joining TJF as part of Project 2000. We’ll also have a selection of Glasgow Beer Works products available for purchase so if you haven’t had the chance to sample the 1971 lager, there is no better opportunity than ahead of kick-off. The suite will re-open after the game until 8pm with the PlayerZone taking place shortly after the final whistle. The Aitken Suite is a family-friendly supporters’ bar so children and family groups are very welcome. Entry to the Aitken Suite is available through the main entrance of the Colin Weir Stand.
