First of all try and imagine what a tonne (that's 1000kg, 2200lbs) of clothes piled up would look like. That's a absolute sh1tload of clothes. And for all that collecting the club gets £400. Hardly life changing is it? Compared to the what the club could lose in terms of perception & PR it's mind boggling to me that the board would happily go along with this. It's the kind of thing you'd expect a Scout troupe or a boy's club to do, not a professional football club. Are the club going to send the players to supermarkets to do bag packing next? If this was a scheme ran by a charity where the clothes would go to a good cause, then that's fair enough.
