Pretty sure Ashoka was the first sponsor we had and it was during Johnstone's tenure, so maybe it came along soon after that game Mortons Rolls? ... I can remember the press shot for the Ashoka deal ... Fat Davie Derek* sitting at a table on the cente spot getting tore into a Ruby Murray and a Mick jagger, with a waiter beside him... "Player manager" .... ... Anyone remember Stella Artois were rumoured to be sponsoring us. Watson Towers stepped in. But it was a bit of a dissappointment after the "Stella Girls" made an appearance at a pre-season supporters fed/meet the manager/press v old thistle players quiz-might thing at the Community Central halls. ... Has anyone got a pic of them that night? purely to confirm the story... ETA - "Unforgettable.... that's what you are...."
