Scored 20 goals in our 6 premiership wins. Average goals of almost three and a half. Conceded 13 goals in our 9 premiership defeats. Average of roughly one and a half.

I think as soon as we break this consectutive wins hoodoo, that we will progress onto the next level - clearly not too far off. Lawless, Higgy, Dools, Stevo all showing form last night and could all start to banging them in.

Cheers for all the chip ins, especially the ones probing for new stats to enjoy - watch out for the quirks and keep them coming please! :)

Listen, there’s a bit of Loughran in all of us if we’re being honest with ourselves. Everything in moderation. -_-

Sunnylaw, Welshy came on at New Douglas Park in the 3-3, so if you change that to 3 appearances, unbeaten, we’ve got a cool new stat to cheer the boy up. ;)

Allyo, aye you're right, 18 out of our 34 goals have came against Accies and Caley. Bonkers. :wacko2:

So, what next then for the mighty Magyars and the great Kristiano?

Well, the last guy to net an away hat trick for us in the Top Flight was Jim Melrose away back in April 1977. It just happened to be at Rugby Park too, in a terrific 3-1 victory for Bertie’s Jags. Just sayin’ like… :whistling:

Of course, these were the days when we always seemed to win at Rugby Park, the apoplectic home support being a source of great amusement to the travelling red n yell army.

All told, between 1971 and 1983 we only lost once in thirty games v Killie! What japes!

It’s been nowhere near as much fun down there in more recent times though – we always seemed to just lose out in tight encounters in the 90s and 00s.

Still, Killie remain our “most conquered” side when it comes to those all-important SFL / SPL / SPFL Top Flight games – 65 Thistle victories is the current tally.

Of our current playing staff, Kallum is our top dog in the competitive scoring stakes, having netted twice against them in 2014.

At the other end, neither Paul nor Scott can boast of a clean sheet. In fact, it’s been 12 games since a clean sheet vs Killie (all games). Last time was Toastie's hat trick game in November 2002, when the redoubtable Kenny Arthur ensured that James Alexander Gordon’s teatime vocal intonation was downward for "Kilmarnock, nil".

Jags v Killie stats…

I was at the Hamilton game and forgot all about Welshy coming on - Oops. Anyhoo, was John Donnelly the last Thistle player to score with a back heel in the mid-80's or has there been others since that I have forgot or just don't know about?

Liam Buchanan at Inverness when we won 3-2 with half the team down with swine flu. Or was it bird flu? Get confused between the two.

A Dools hat trick would also mark our 150th goal away to Killie. Just sayin’ like… :whistling:

Great stats mate, I wonder if Doolan has any idea about half of those... Wonder if he ever visits the forum for a read... Hmm.

i'm hoping jukey loughran has a direct line to archie, but failing that. i'm sure maxi visits this forum daily as part of his busy schedule, and prints off the stats and pins them on the dressing room noticeboard or leaves copies in the players dookits.

Talking of back heeled goals.... the first Jags player I saw score in this fashion was Denis McQuade in an away game at Rugby Park where we beat Killie 4-1 (71-72 season). I'd settle for that score again tomorrow without the back heeled goal.

four one would equal our best away result to killie (x 3).

i'd settle for a repeat of wednesday though ..... or go one better and take revenge for our worst defeat there, by equaling that scoreline, and inflict a six to zip defeat on them.

and yes, you may say i'm a dreamer ..... but i'm not the only one.

If we repeat a 4-1 score line from the 71-72 season then it gets me dreaming.

:detective: 24.01.2015 Kilmarnock 2 Partick Thistle 2 (SPFL Premiership - game 22)

  • Willie Collum returns from his stint in the referee sin bin and takes charge of his third Thistle game of the season. It's the first of the 3 games in which he hasn't award a penalty against us, and Thistle duly emerge with a point for the first time as a consequence.
  • This is Thistle's second competitive match of this season to finish cardless, following on from a similar outcome at Celtic Park in December's League game.
  • With only 2 yellows in the last 3 games, Thistle are no longer top of the indiscipline table and have been overtaken by Hamilton, who seem to have lost the plot in 2015.
  • Kilmarnock get their first goal from open play in 742 minutes. Their last conventional goal was scored 8 games ago - against Thistle at Firhill!
  • Thistle only have 1 clean sheet in their last 23 games vs Kilmarnock, 1994 to date (all games).
  • Thistle last returned back to back clean sheets in August 2013 - 73 games ago (all games).
  • Thistle only have 1 win in the last 12 competitive games vs Kilmarnock.
  • Thistle are 62 games since back to back wins in the Top Flight. By virtue of absenteeism, it's the longest run in this category by time span (almost 11 years), and actually the 3rd longest run by game span. The last such run was over 100 years ago and it's this run which stands as the record, as the Jags went 77 games without back to back Top Flight wins, from the 2nd November 1912 to the 5th December 1914. If back to back wins are not forthcoming, this record will be equalled on match day 37 and beaten on match day 38.
  • In his 6th game for the club, Freddy loses a goal from open play for the first time, but makes up for it by netting his first goal for the club, earning an important point in the process. Centre halves love a goal more. :D
  • Belgium becomes the 17th known country to be represented in the Thistle goal scoring charts. The full list reads: Australia, Belgium, England, Finland, France, Ghana, India, Ireland, Ivory Coast, Kosovo, Namibia, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, the USA and Wales. Of course, it would be foolish to rule out the possibilty of unearthing new discoveries from the past, British colonies in the victorian age, that sort of thing. If you know of any others please let me know!
  • In this season's Premiership, Thistle now have 15 different League goalscorers, a spread which is only bettered by Celtic (17) and Dundee United (16).
  • As previously mentioned, another 3 goal scorers in the League would equal the all-time club record spread of 18 which was set in 1999-00. The current outfield players who've appeared in this season's campaign but have yet to score are (with 2014-15 League appearances in brackets): Declan McDaid (10), Dale Keenan (4), Sean Welsh (3), David Wilson (2) and Liam Lindsay (1).
  • Thistle have now played 28 competitive games since registering a back to back win, draw or loss, a 29 game sequence which stretches from 3rd May 2014 to date.
  • Thistle stay 9th in the Premiership for the 10th match in a row.
