allyo
Here's a thought. I'm starting a thread about Christie Elliott in which I'm challenging people not to refer to his great attitude, his physical fitness, his flexibility, his loyalty. For me, tonight and quite often, he is among our best footballers. He very rarely gives the ball away, usually finds a Thistle player, create chances, shows good skill, and does much of it at a pace that other players can only dream of. He's one of our best players. If he was only a full back he would be an excellent one. Any other view is out of date, and based on a player that he no longer is. See how we go...
potty trained
Spot on. Had a great game tonight. As he always does.
Big Col
Great ball in to the box for our only chance tonight.
lady-isobel-barnett
Great game indeed. Man marking Sinclair is no easy task and still having the energy to make forward runs. Thought he doubled up with Edwards (who was shadowing Tierney) excellently.
allyo
Hmm. 'Energy'. I might let that one pass
flashman
Best Thistle player on show tonight, hardly put a foot wrong. Needed a few more like him. Great controlled play out of defence on a number of occasions.
Yellow & Redneck
Christie's story is a fantastic one. From Jarrow and Whitley Bay to taking on Celtic in the Premiership. Testament not only to his hard work and determination, but also his ability.
DenisOhDenis
For purely selfish reasons, I'd love a pre season match against Whitley Bay. Standard is more or less on a par with Blyth. Airdrie were here a couple of years ago which, of course, I boycotted as a matter of principle.

chunky jag
I'm so proud of Christie and the way he's developed, sums up everything I love about Thistle these past few years

robphil
You always get the feeling Christie loves the jags as much as we love him
SussexJag
Always good to see players genuinely improve. Great attitude, great coaching and management. Let's be honest he was in the 'athlete' category when we first got him.
lady-isobel-barnett
Let's be honest he was in the 'athlete' category when we first got him. Been saying for weeks now Christie looks like he doesn't do pre-season. He just turns up. Superb athlete.

Weebaw1
He has probably taken over from Craigen as the fans' favourite and rightly so. Perhaps if he had played right back all his days we would have considered him skilfull. A case of a player finding his niche, hard work and good management. He has put in some lovely crosses from rb, an area showing vast improvement. He should be able to score some goals this year as he is good with both feet. Christie is a great asset to the club. Third Lanark
Good thread about a great player. Not anything more to add other than he has been a fantastic servant to the club and will be fully deserving of a testimonial in a couple of years time
Paddy Thistle
I always remember when we signed him at a meet the manager night, McNamara said we had funds either to sign Christie or Tam McManus on a years deal and he felt Christie would be a better asset to the club.</p> He certainly has proved that Edited August 14, 2017 by Paddy Thistle
cjptfc
Christie is exactly the type of player we need in this league in the position he plays. Defends well, speed and strength to support attacks and fitness to get back into position, proved that he can deliver great crosses into the box, good at man-marking, good passer of the ball and generally finds a Thistle player. Sorry for mentioning his speed, strength and fitness but I feel it's a huge asset to his game, plus I also mentioned his passing and crossing.
