avie-man
Going by last year, its an extra ten grand in the bank in prize money and obviously the gate money as well. However would you trust Archie not the squander it? I thought the board told us he would be given a decent budget anyway in their statement. ETA: Looking at over 20k for a televised match as well Edited July 29, 2018 by avie-man

Big Dan
Hopefully it will generate a few quid that we did not anticipate around 16.45 yesterday. Too glass half full for this forum?
The Jukebox Rebel
Thistle have never beaten Celtic at home in the League Cup in 9 attempts. 10th time lucky? Our last League Cup victory against Celtic came in 1971. Every time Thistle win the League Cup they beat Celtic. Rid Skwerr
I love your optimism. It's in the stars - it's Thistle's cup!
javeajag
Not good .... we are likely to get thrashed which will not be great for our confidence
Legs Like A Spider
At least McCarthy knows he'll get a run out in the first team!

We aren't expected to beat them. We just go out and enjoy it and move on to our league programme. It's a bonus game for us.

scotty
To maximise the income from this tie, what will the seating allocation be?

We can't be going in with a loser's mentality before a ball is kicked.

Vinnyjag
I would give them JHS and North or Main stand, given that we tend to not attend the OF games in big numbers and maximise the income it could be the difference in wages for a decent striker. Losing to Celtic will not shatter our confidence giving that we are not expected to win, playing away to Dunfermline in next round and losing heavily would be more likely to affect confidence

Big Col
Gerry should contact the SFA tomorrow and tell them that we're conceding the game before a ball is even kicked. Jeezo - yes it will be difficult but anything can happen over 90 minutes.
