Jagsfan58
A 1-1 draw, improvement on last weeks result. Onwards and upwards!
east lothian jag
Just checked Conrad Balatoni's Twitter account - he's in Oban! So whoever the trialist is, it isn't him! Shit news
Firhillista
1-1 final score. "A good workout for both sides." On to Motherwell on Wednesday. Looking forward to it.
kni
Just checked Conrad Balatoni's Twitter account - he's in Oban! So whoever the trialist is, it isn't him! Â Yes - not a good sign! There has been nothing in the press about another defender coming in on trial. It must have happened after the Balatoni loan deal fell through. Somebody mentioned on here that we are looking at another Hearts defender as a possible loanee.
kni
Last week in Blyth, he was on the pitch showing his football skills.  This week, Wee Gus, Jags Trialist, in pre-season training.  One way to get yourself fit. And put's Lambie's methods in the shade  Brilliant and very brave!!
a f kincaid
Apparently Fleetwood were training out at Grangemouth and believe they made the call on the switch of venue and it behind closed doors. Shame as it would have been good to see the game to see how we are progressing in pre season.  Not sure that's true. Their website for most of last week was showing that the game had been moved to the Grangemouth Stadium in view of the greater than anticipated public interest so it's not at all clear who asked for it to be a closed doors game.  (They're training at Stirling University by the way.) A guy sitting next to me a Blyth last week told me that they had 30 signed professionals and their squad list more or less confirms that. They've just spend £250,000 on a stand behind a goal and are currently building another one. Probably have bigger average attendances than us as well. lady-isobel-barnett
Took in the last half hour or so of the game and from what I saw we were much improved from last week. I think the state of the pitch played a big part at Blyth and today's was many times better. The trialist was a very young right sided centreback. Evidently had a good game and certainly played the last part of the game well.

Maybe Jack Boyle can play in defence I honestly dont know Jackie did say that he Boyle had some good touches last weekend but wanted to see his fitness, maybe therefore thats why todays trialist got the full 90 minutes. Then again maybe its someone else altogether.

The success of Crawley Town, who won the Conference by around 20 points, shows that investment can pay off in that league. Crawley are the bookies' favourites, by a large margin, to win League 2. twinny
It seems to me that Burns has moved in front of Fraser for the 'fourth place' striker role, despite Fraser starting more frequently under McCall. Â Burns was getting more of a game the previous season, however I'm sure I heard injury kept him out quite a bit last year, giving Fraser a look in. I think they both look like good prospects. policemans whistle
Gates were open for all and admission was a Pound ! More changes throughout the game than the weather last week.No standouts except maybe Rowson.New lads are very tall, as was the trialist.Good to see Paul Paton back, had trouble for the first fifteen minutes with The Fleetwood "Jose Quitongo" lookalike. Mr Bunny
Interesting, I think, that Grehan and Burns are on now for Stewart and Doolan. It seems to me that Burns has moved in front of Fraser for the 'fourth place' striker role, despite Fraser starting more frequently under McCall. Â It wasn't anything to do with McCall ... Burns had a bad injury which meant Fraser moved up the pecking order but Burns is now fit and getting his chance to move ahead again. Also Burns is a year older than Fraser so there's plenty of time for the latter to make his mark in the team. Â It occurs to me we might see them used depending on the opposition. Burns is very quick ... Fraser is strong ... there may be games where one is better than the other. The one that makes the real break through first will be the one that gets goals when he plays. kni
A further thought on today's trialist - Kyle Lochhead who is out of contract but trying to win a new deal with us.
lady-isobel-barnett
A further thought on today's trialist - Kyle Lochhead who is out of contract but trying to win a new deal with us. It wasn't Kyle Lochhead. I maybe approaching senility (in truth already kicked in) but I know what KL looks like and it most certainly wasn't him. I'd hope the trialist was under 19 as he looked promising but not probably 1st team ready.
