The Sunnylaw Jag
I just noticed the worst football movie ever is on Movie mix at 1pm. Soccer Dog; European Cup. Not only is the premise of a soccer playing dog bad enough but its also supposed to be set in Scotland. Of course you might rate ' A Shot at Glory' as worse. So what is the worst one ever? Is 'Escape to Victoy' the best though?
SussexJag
Does Kes count? Great scene when the teacher gets carried away and takes the boys game too seriously! Gregory's Girl? Dunno about ETV - Stallone's goal keeping was farcical. Johnny Wark scares a frw viewers with his looks too!

lady-isobel-barnett
I was very disappointed in this one from the late 90s. A huge flop. http://ia.media-imdb...,0,214,317_.jpg

brick_top
Fever Pitch maybe a good book but it's a sh*t film As a Liverpool fan it's a VERY shit film! Damned United was pretty good. I tend to not watch football movies or TV football "dramas" because the on the pitch "action" is so amazingly lame.

It's going to be called 'Dundee United's Season, 2013-2014'.
peagreenboy
I posit the idea that there has never been a film featuring football which has not been terrible. Except maybe Zidane, but I've not seen it yet.
ian_mac
Would recommend "Once In A Lifetime: The Story of the New York Cosmos". It's actually a documentary but still, brilliant. A Shot At Glory has to be the worst.

Duck snort
It's not easy to make a good fictional film about football. The action scenes never look realistic. Can't really think of a good one. Escape to Victory is entertaining but only because it's complete nonsense. Best film I've seen is a documentary called The Other Final about a game arranged between the 2 lowest ranked teams in the FIFA rankings, Bhutan and Montserrat, on the same day as the 2002 World Cup Final. A real feel good movie with guys that just play for the love of the game. The match commentary is brilliant.
topcat
There was that daft remake of the Mean Machine with Vinnie Jones. That must be up there.
topcat
In a really boring Oman bar and there is an Indian football movie called "Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal". Looks like a classic
