lady-isobel-barnett
Moncur sounds like a great signing. I don't know much about English football but I think I'd be right in saying West Ham have a very successful youth development structure. Don't think the lad will want reminded of his last first team outing if it's the game I saw on telly before the Hearts match.

yoda-jag
how exciting is it for us to be involved in the january transfer window, with double figures of players exiting and coming in? for too many seasons, it's been a period of relative inactivity for us. so far we have ..... in: erskine (loan), mair (signed), fraser (signed), taylor (loan), moncur (loan), the footballer formerly known as buaben? out: baird (released), kerr (released), murray (released), forbes (released), mukendi (loan finished) that's a much stronger ins over outs and still another eleven hours to go ..... another few comings and goings yet?
Paulo
It's such a surreal feeling, as a Jags fan, to have your club actually involved in the transfer market to such a degree. Actually signing guys who look like good players, who may go on to be even better....instead of gambles on journeymen, hoping they still have something left. I'm impressed by the club's business this season, especially if our budget is as tight as we think it might be.

Andynptfc
Excellent January window so far. Are the two signings eligible for tommorows game? Interesting to see that a few of Carlisle's fans are not too happy about buaben leaving. Anybody know if he was playing regularly for them? Also amazed to hear he was only 25, seems like forever ago he was at Dundee utd.

For once, I agree with you and add that Mark McGuigan was released last week too. Gerry O'Donnell's contract was terminated at the same time as Hugh Murray's. Coalan McAleer's Airdrie loan ended this week so there could be another deal for him. Ryan Scully is out of contract when his Pars loan ends so he has, in effect, gone too unless he is offered a new deal. It would not be a surprise if a couple of promising U20s went out on loan, e.g. David Wilson who has been on the first team bench recently. I am expecting a bit more business today, possibly a left-back in to cover for or compete with Taylor-Sinclair. Of course, there could be a late bid for Aaron (what happened to Celtic's reported interest?) so hopefully Archie will have a replacement in mind or even lined up. Yes likely Wilson will go out on loan now we have two midfielders in. Would like to see Piccolo go on loan as well but not sure if we will take a risk in case of injuries at the back,

McAleer has had his loan extended at Airdrie and incidentally Brownlie has started brightly at Cowden. From first hand accounts Scully has been doing well at Dunfermline.and would be fine as a back up keeper for us next season. It's always difficult for a keeper to accept he may never get a first team game if the No1 goalie keeps his form and avoids injury So he could even go back out on loan. Nothing necessarily to do with being on the bench but Wilson will be far down the pecking order in central midfield so he could be one to go out on loan. He'd be a real loss to the U20s but that wouldn't be a priority.
kni
^^ I had not seen the news of McAleer's loan extension. He must be doing well at Airdrie. Like Scully, he's out of contract in May.

The Sunnylaw Jag
Carlisle have let a few of their players come up to Scotland in the last few days. I hope this isn't some nefarious plot to enter into the SPFL by stealth mode.
kni
Best luck to both guys. Hope George Moncur is better than Henoc Mukendi mind you. George Moncur (son of John) is a far better prospect than Mukendi - Young Hammer of the Year last season. He was an England youth international and played 20 games for AFC Wimbledon in League Two. kni
Celtic have agreed deals to sell Joe Ledley to Crystal Palace and buy Leigh Griffiths from Wolves. McGeouch has gone to Coventry City, i.e. Northampton, on loan so we've lost out on him to Elvis. Edited January 31, 2014 by kni
