Garscube Road End
Apparently an Argentinian consortium has bought St . Mirren. Always concerned when foreigners buy Scottish clubs. Why buy St. Mirren? Not just St.Mirren any Scottish club?
The Cup
There is zero money in Scottish football. You've got to wonder why they are interested when they'll make no profit.
Mad Mull Jag
it will be to bring over young south american players to qualify for work permits for the EU or its a front for cocaine importation !

potty trained
Same group who tried to get Motherwell a month or so ago. Seems they left their last club in SA in a shambles. Guillermo Almada seems a stick on to be their new manager.
thebiglemon
They'll use Paisley as a bargaining chip in negotiations over the Falklands. i.e. Argentinian government: if you give us the Falklands back we'll take Paisley off your hands British government: Done!! And we'll throw in Gibraltar if you take Johnstone and Linwood as well
The Cup
If they do want to showcase South American talent then St Mirren will be a revolving door of players. Also the idea didn't work at Airdrie and was an unmitigated disaster at Ratih Rovers.
Graemei
Administration for St Mirren in five years? Sounds like a terrible idea.
Norgethistle
I'm really surprised Gilmour sold to them as he has always stated he would only sell to people who had the long term best interests of St Mirren at heart

Norgethistle
If I remember correctly (PT may keep me right here), St Mirren have no debt, operate at a profit, have a new bought and paid for stadium. Now as they are very much Paisleys team and incredibly connected to the community, this would be the ideal set up for a fan ownership club, I don't know if this was ever discussed or tried. I think there was attempts, pretty sure they got a 1000 odd fans to back it, but the St Mirren board have always been clear they will only sell to someone they think can operate the club properly. I think that is why it has been on the market for so long, and the fans consortium had many changes in plans/ strategies/ boards so the St Mirren board opted out. eljaggo
Story was that the Lufwaffe came to bomb Paisley, but when they saw it they thought someone had beaten them to it - so bombed Clydebank instead.
