Lionel J. Botch
So the board aren't supporting Archie then? I feared the worst when all we seemed to be offering was 12 month deals. Doesn't show much confidence at board room level does it? Archibald must be so frustrated. I think there is frustration but there is a limit to finances available. In my opinion only offering 1 year deals is a big problem. Most of our squad are out of contract at the end of the season. Should we stay up I think we'll have another few like Higgy, SOD or Conrad. Can get a similar or better wage and a longer term deal (ok I know Conrad is without a club) but you get the point. That puts the manager under major pressure as he needs to try to replace low paid players with even lower paid players. We are heading to the Lambie era every player being out of contract year on year. This does not build stability at the club.
Lionel J. Botch
Seen the other clubs after him (allegedly) Raith, Dunfermline, Falkirk....the level we're competing at Yes, wage wise we are not really competing with the teams in the top league. Some of these teams will have a higher home support than us and will offer similar and possibly longer deals. I was shocked to hear what some of our players were earning last year, albeit basic with add ons. Might not be accurate but I have no reason to doubt who told me.
lady-isobel-barnett
Seen the other clubs after him (allegedly) Raith, Dunfermline, Falkirk....the level we're competing at Well two of those clubs are drawing a larger home support than us these days. Dark Passenger
I've spoken to a few Hibs fans today. They feel Stanton has confidence issues and the whole relegation thing was a big factor. Almost like it weighed heavy on him because of the family hibbee connection. He's no relation to Pat, unless there's something I'm missing?

Dick Dastardly
A benchwarming jobber at Hibs? Sort of shite we are limited to bringing in sadly. Like Booth you mean? Or Cerny? Or Welsh
Lionel J. Botch
and Pogba is on a 1 year +1 year option deal. Yep, does that make it most of the squad? How many are free to talk to other clubs in January?
JaggyMad
Think one of the main points about 1 yr contracts is that some players themselves only want to sign for a yr. Lawless even said it in an interview that he prefererd to only sign 1 yr deals. Don't think the club can do much about it if the players refuse to sign for more than that. Yellow & Redneck
Still got a couple of weeks before the Dundee game, and we really need to have the squad in place to kick on by then. All in all, it has been a good day. Muirhead was a signing right out of the blue, and a really good one at that. Hendry leaving was a sad one, but it is a great bit of business for the club, and wish him well for the future. The revenue raised from that deal will hopefully be able to fund another couple of players. And with the transfer window now closed, some of our targets can't afford to be too picky in regards to their destination which will work in our favour.
