Members Willjag
Hopefully his head wont expand more than his belly, but to be honest, I've always thought Michael Max was perfect for that job.
potty trained
Hopefully his head wont expand more than his belly, but to be honest, I've always thought Michael Max was perfect for that job. I think he's finally found his calling with the audio commentary.
Jaggernaut
I think he's finally found his calling with the audio commentary. Just a wee thumbs up to whoever does the video highlights commentary, which I think is excellent.
Woodstock Jag
I find the announcer annoying. I much preferred Michael Max and Lance Gilmour. He just seems to give the impression that he doesn't know what he's doing, even when the technology doesn't fail on him. An electronic scoreboard would be a decent addition to Firhill. Armand2
If anyone is in any doubt over the competence of the current announcer, let me remind you of this: "Our half-time guest today is none other than Partick Thistle legend, Jamie Mitchell". Toss him and his microphone straight in the canal.
topcat
That was karma. For a moment "the PA system" thread was just above "Archie speaks Out"
Yellow & Redneck
The announcer seems like a really nice guy, and I am sure it is a job he does voluntarily for the good of the club, but I just don't think his voice is really suited to it. Rid Skwerr
The pa was flawless tonight. Well done to whoever got it working properly.
Lindau
There was a wee stutter but otherwise it was fine tonight. I saw somewhere that someone said they couldn't hear Jimmy Craigen but I heard everything he said. Tonight I was in the JHS for the first time since the Morton game courtesy of freebies from the Und assistant manager Gordon Young, so maybe the reception is better in the JHS than the North or perhaps they have just bought a new mike!! Members Willjag
Yeah I heard everything fine in the JHS as well. James was a bit on the quiet side, but that was him not the p.a.
1 John Lambie
New mic in operation & most of the announcements done from the gantry. Not perfect, but better than recent weeks.
BowenBoys
Has the tumble tumbler broken now? I noticed that the half time draw was drawn from a cardboard box. I was talking to a friend at half time, after the mic feedback problem. He administrates the National Theatre of Scotland. He said that he had written to the club and offered to send the NTS sound engineer to Firhill to sort out the sound system. The club replied that there is no problem with the system, it's an operator problem.
partickthedog
As I have said several times before, from the North Stand, I can never make out the name of the halftime guest, so am not sure how enthusiastically I should be clapping! If the announcer has to shout it incoherently for whatever reason, could he not then just repeat it in a normal voice? I am sure that there are many Jags legends who have not received the welcome they deserve because we have no idea who they are. Then again some less than legends may be happy to go under (or behind) the radar.

All I heard yesterday in the North was that it was Tommy (Rae?) and then him saying "gie us a goal Thistle" or something like that. Was it Tommy Rae? It is feckin embarrassing!
lady-isobel-barnett
Exactly. All I heard yesterday in the North was that it was Tommy (Rae?) and then him saying "gie us a goal Thistle" or something like that. Was it Tommy Rae? It is feckin embarrassing! Admittedly not got the best of hearing but I doubt it was much clearer in the JHS.
Lindau
Only time I was in the JHS this season was the recent Dundee Und game and I heard every word. That has never happened at any time that I am in the NS. Was it Tommy Rae on Saturday?
Alan Murray
Can they please stop blasting the music before the game. I struggle to here the person next to me!
