north stander
Ziggy is a tremendous signing. Versatile and solid. Who knows, come November or December, depending how things are going, Archie maybe able to work his magic again and get him to extend his deal with us. Not being greedy (Ok, I am), but if Archie can bring in another Ziggy type defender who can play in various positions across the backline, then I'd say we will have an excellent squad in strength and depth (and that's before a ball is kicked in anger), and we can all look forward to the season with lots of confidence and some excellent, entertaining displays (famous last words). And hopefully, that'll equate to crowds flocking back to Firhill as we storm the top six and do something of significant note in a cup. ian_mac
Only immediate concern I suppose is who will play in goal on Friday night? Wouldn't be surprised if that's the priority for Archie. Edited July 12, 2016 by ian_mac

ian_mac
We can't play a trialist unfortunately. Which makes a complete mockery of having this competition starting so early in the summer, especially for the smaller clubs.
Weebaw1
Brilliant news. Top 6 plus Scottish Cup winners. I bet Ziggy can play like some cat from Japan.

Totally agree with this and love this quote Ian, "especially for the smaller clubs", it does demonstrate all of our thinking has changed and we justifiably think of ourselves as a bigger club, which again is down to the hard work of the board along with the management team, it hasnt happened overnight
partickthedog
If Ziggy is used to dealing with spiders from Mars, then Spiders from Queens Park should be no problem.
