Fawlty Towers
It is a proper home game today (at Petershill) against Queens Park with a 1pm kick off. Hopefully the weather won't be as bad as forecast. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/partick-thistle-wfc-v-queens-park-wfc-20th-october-2024/#match-preview
Fawlty Towers
A good 2-0 win today in a a game in which the wind played a large part. Highlights watching on youtube - a dog invading the pitch at the start of the 2nd half, Kieran saying the keeper catched the ball (it was caught in my day) and Courtney reacting to one of the ref's poorer decisions with "holy guacamole" - Michael Max you need to up your game!

Fawlty Towers
Just to confirm that there is no game today due to the National Team being in action, next game is a week today against Glasgow City.
exiledjag
Just looked at highlights. I thought the Jags played well when keeping the ball on the ground. QP ladies also had dome nice football/passing phases as well when they kept the ball on the ground. The individual skill levels of Jags Ladies was impressive, particularly twisting and turning to make space or change direction. Perhaps the wind was a factor but I though our finishing was poor tending to be hurried and lacking composure. Decision making in final third was also a bit suspect. All in all a good performance but really we should have been at least 5 up by the time we scored our second goal. Unless Motherwell have improved dramatically I think we are still favourites for another top 6 finished. Our next game v Motherwell coming up soon will be a good marker for the rest of the season. Well done and best of luck to Jags Ladies.
Fawlty Towers
Back to league business today with a tough home game against Glasgow City kicking off at noon. It will be difficult against a very good side but I am sure the team will give their best. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/glasgow-city-v-partick-thistle-wfc-nov-3rd-2024/#match-preview
Fawlty Towers
Firstly, I got it wrong this morning as whilst we were playing at Petershill it wasa actually Glasgow City's home game. Anyway, we were beaten 3-0 but other results were favourable and we retain our 6th place position.
Fawlty Towers
Starting the build up early for this one as it is a big one at Petershill on Sunday - quarter final of League Cup against Hibs. We beat them in the semis of this competition last season so hopefully we can't get the better of them again tomorrow. It is a 1pm kick off. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/partick-thistle-wfc-v-hibernian-wfc-10th-november-2024/
Fawlty Towers
Out of the league cup with a 4-1 defeat against Hibs. It was a very tough match and showed the big gap between the top 5 and the rest. Back to league action next week with a big home gamea against Motherwell who are coming off the back of an 8-1 defeat against Rangers in the league cup. From what I saw on youtube Motherwell looked the better side, need to get points in December as we have a run of games against the non top five sides. exiledjag
I see that Motherwell hammered Queens Park and are now 3 points ahead of the Jags. The 1-1 away to Hibs was a very good result and could prove important in the race with Motherwell for 6th place. Looking at the run of games to take both teams to 22 games played and if things go to form the League could looks like: Motherwell 22 - 32 Jags 22 - 31. Much water to flow under the bridge, though. partickthedog
In the same season that the women’s teams of both Hearts and Hibs have taken a step forward to challenge nearer the top of the table, their respective men’s teams have struggled at the bottom end of their league. Not sure if any useful point can be drawn from the above or whether it is just a random happening.

Fawlty Towers
Unfortunately we are out of the Cup having lost 3-1 against Glasgow City but it was a spirited performance which should give us reasons for optimism for the remainder of the season as we look to finish top 6 again. Looks like both Hibs (who lost to Hearts) and ourselves could consider ourselves to be very unlucky to be given such tough draws when so many minnows were and are still floating around.
Fawlty Towers
Forgot to post this earlier today. It is a home game tonight against Spartans with a 7.45pm kick off. An important game in our quest for another top 6 league finish. https://ptfc.co.uk/ptfc-fixture/partick-thistle-wfc-v-spartans-wfc-11th-dec-2024/#match-preview
Fawlty Towers
A disappointing 1-1 draw this evening but I don't think we can complain as, sorry to say, we were really poor. The team has had a lot of praise the last 2 seasons but are not performing to those levels this season, top 6 looking less likely now.
