A good 2-0 win today in a a game in which the wind played a large part. Highlights watching on youtube - a dog invading the pitch at the start of the 2nd half, Kieran saying the keeper catched the ball (it was caught in my day) and Courtney reacting to one of the ref's poorer decisions with "holy guacamole" - Michael Max you need to up your game!

Just looked at highlights.

I thought the Jags played well when keeping the ball on the ground. QP ladies also had dome nice football/passing phases as well when they kept the ball on the ground.

The individual skill levels of Jags Ladies was impressive, particularly twisting and turning to make space or change direction.

Perhaps the wind was a factor but I though our finishing was poor tending to be hurried and lacking composure.

Decision making in final third was also a bit suspect.

All in all a good performance but really we should have been at least 5 up by the time we scored our second goal.

Unless Motherwell have improved dramatically I think we are still favourites for another top 6 finished. Our next game v Motherwell coming up soon will be a good marker for the rest of the season.

Well done and best of luck to Jags Ladies.

Starting the build up early for this one as it is a big one at Petershill on Sunday - quarter final of League Cup against Hibs. We beat them in the semis of this competition last season so hopefully we can't get the better of them again tomorrow. It is a 1pm kick off.

Weather permitting it is a tough away game to Hibs with a 1pm kick off.

Excellent result. Fighting back to draw 1-1 (having to hold out last few minutes with player down due to red card).

I see that  Motherwell hammered Queens Park and are now 3 points ahead of the Jags.

The 1-1 away to Hibs was a very good result and could prove important in the race with Motherwell for 6th place.

Looking at the run of games to take both teams to 22 games played and if things go to form the League could looks like:

Motherwell 22 - 32

Jags 22 - 31.

Much water to flow under the bridge, though.

In the same season that the women’s teams of both Hearts and Hibs have taken a step forward to challenge nearer the top of the table, their respective men’s teams have struggled at the bottom end of their league.

Not sure if any useful point can be drawn from the above or whether it is just a random happening.

Unfortunately we are out of the Cup having lost 3-1 against Glasgow City but it was a spirited performance which should give us reasons for optimism for the remainder of the season as we look to finish top 6 again.

Looks like both Hibs (who lost to Hearts) and ourselves could consider ourselves to be very unlucky to be given such tough draws when so many minnows were and are still floating around.
