twinny
So what's the longest we've had to wait for our first goal of the season? At least our defence looks solid. Â I heard this was it, though the 1920s were also mentioned. I'm sure JR will be along shortly to let us know
Jag
Â Â So much for my get rich quick plan to have a tenner on him for first goal Apologies! It was too good value not to post.
Lindau
Solid central defence, great goalkeeper. We just need to get up front sorted!
Lindau
a point away from home would have been a decent night's work.......if it hadn't been for the Killie score   Still a decent nights work. 2 clean sheets in our 2 away games
cyprusjag
I cannot believe there were no bookings in the Killie game when you see what happened in our first two games. It's a bad joke.
JeanieD
In many ways we are not alone as regards the goal drought - Hamilton haven't scored (only played two though), and Motherwell and ICT only have 1 each - perhaps indicative of a lack of forward thinking in the league generally - fear of relegation - boredom - 4-6-0 or 3-5-2-0 formations? Â I know what you mean, but our efforts are best concentrated on our weaknesses that we can improve upon rather than those of others that we can never ever hope to change.
partickthedog
From somebody who was actually at the game this was a much more exciting encounter than 0-0 score would suggest. Both sides really went for it especially towards the end and there were numerous close things. Some brilliant saves from Cerny and great blocks from the defenders. Yet we had more of the good chances. Goalie incredible save onto the bar from Lawless shot. Wilson through on goal and had to shoot one second earlier. Best chance Banzo breaking through and just failed to time final pass to release Lawless. Â Draw absolutely fair. We matched a very good team. I think when we score one we will score several. Tom Hosie
Poor first half, excellent second. Â Thought we played some excellent stuff second half. Â Major pluses: Cerny is a big improvement on Fox. Lindsay looks a star in the making. Just needs to work on his distribution. He has the rest. Welsh is like a new signing and a good one. Â Bit more composure we could have won the game but Inverness will point to the two Cerny saves and that chance injury time. Â Â
Jag
Good result, would have taken it before the game. Seems to have been a good second half, with chances coming at both ends. Â I'm not too concerned about our lack of goals at this stage, all things considered. Â I just think a wee formational tweak may give us a bit more creation in the final third. javeajag
Positives - 3 games 2 clean sheets only 2 goals against Negatives - no goals in 3 games  Optimist - win in Saturday it's an ok start to the season
La Scimmia Rossa
Not much to add on TH post. I'm kind of concerned thst the Abdul, Banzo, Welsh trio lacks pace but it's early days. Â Lawless was tremendous second half. Amoo didn't perform. Â ICT were very very poor. A good point. Should have been 3 imo
Jaggernaut
A point in an away match is decent if and only if we can secure home wins. That kind of consistency would see us very safe. But we need to win away matches as well as most home matches if we are to continue progressing. Â Man I ought to be in football management. a f kincaid
So what's the longest we've had to wait for our first goal of the season? At least our defence looks solid.  Excluding friendlies, there seem to be 2 candidates with 4 games............................  1956/57 Raith Rovers 0-1 League Rangers 0-1 League St Mirren 0-1 League Clyde 0-0 Glasgow Cup  1999/00 Alloa 0-2 League Cup Stenhousemuir 0-1 League Albion Rovers 0-2 Challenge Cup Alloa 0-1 League  There are more instances of 4 or even 5 consecutive matches but all are mid-season.  64/65 ended with 2 goalless Summer Cup ties against Dundee United (0-0 and 0-3) and 65/66 started with 3 goalless defeats League Cup ties (Dunfermline 0-0, Kilmarnock 0-2 and St Johnstone 0-1) making 5 in sequence. Lindau
Might be bad news on Pogba if his hamstring has gone. Hopefully it's just a strain! Paulo
A point in Inverness is a good result, regardless of the Killie score. Killie will go up there and lose. Does make Saturday a little more interesting, but there's a very long way to go from here. Â I'm not too concerned by the lack of goals so far. The first game was a write off after going down to 10, we never score against Celtic, and a clean sheet for the defence in Inverness will be good for the confidence. We're looking more solid at the back and not losing late goals - so that's an improvement on last season in that regard.

Lindau
Looks like Pogba might be fit for Saturday. Â Â Â PARTICK THISTLE forward Christie Elliott could be facing a 20-week lay-off with a pelvic injury. Â Manager Alan Archibald revealed the 24-year-old, who is yet to feature in the Ladbrokes Premiership this season, has suffered a stress fracture in the pelvic area. Â He said: "It is a massive blow for him and for us. He only found out this morning and is obviously devastated." Â It is the latest injury worry for Archibald, who saw new signing Mathias Pogba taken off after just 18 minutes of their goalless draw against Inverness on Wednesday with a suspected hamstring problem. Â However, Archibald is hoping Pogba's injury does not rule him out of the game against Kilmarnock on Saturday. Â He said: "We are hoping it is just a strain and at the moment it looks like it is just a strain, so he might have a wee chance for Saturday. Â "It was good that he didn't do it in full flow. Â "He felt a wee twinge, so hopefully we have caught it early and it is just a strain."
Paulo
Good news re Pogba. I have a feeling that he will be on the bench if he makes it. Â Looking forward to tomorrow in that 'no idea what to expect' way which has sort of become the norm at Firhill. Better than the old feeling of dread. Â Team wise, I'd bring in Doolan for Pogba, bench Amoo and play Stevenson on whichever side Higginbotham will play (cos that has most potential for entertainment).
