He certainly looks like a player and the defensive role looks perfect for him. Just going on some article or interview I read Adam made it clear he thought of himself as a defensive ball playing midfielder first and foremost. There's nothing I've seen of him in that role to dispel the assumption he'd excel in that role. Said before that if he was unavailable I doubt the 3 at the back line up would be effective, unless as some dire defensive tactic. So, yes, he looks tailor made for the middle of a back three. Whether that role is perfect for the player himself I don't know but getting this award can only be seen as a good thing. He may really want to play further forward but he's not going to be miffed playing in the back for a sustained period if he's getting such recognition Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
