Julie Ann
i am genuinely struggling to comprehend why other clubs seem willing and capable of expressing a position when our club cannot. unless you draw your own conclusions. Lionel J. Botch
Is that a statement saying we have no statement to make?
Allan Heron
Pathetic. To paraphrase Camoron, remember when Beattie used to be the future.
Woodstock Jag
If you've nothing anti-NewCo to say, don't say anything at all.
gianlucatoni
Perhaps (playing devil's advocate here mind) being a Glasgow club and regularly having Sevco fans through the turnstiles to see the Jags - albeit in small numbers - they are unwilling to take a public position on the matter for a variety of reasons beknown only to themselves. Longmuirs' document/powerpoint using words such as "complete financial meltdown", "major risk", "paralyse the game" and "obliteration" certainly does not help one iota - you have to wonder what favours were called in for him to send that out and put the frighteners on SFL chairmen. Statement from the club OR no statement from the club they should be left in no doubt in the Firhill boardroom that should they accept this deal it will effectively sound the death knell for PTFC - my 37 year tenure as a Jags fan will be (to use a term from the document in question) terminated. Coljag
Disappointed, hope they know what they r dealing with.
jaf
Disappointing; the words used worrying. The most troubling thing is they seem to be lining us up to trade off this generation if supporters for future generations, oblivious to the fact there will be none. I hope they have worked out Longmuirs document is biased and flawed, and that its a false prospectus.
sandy
The statement says nothing. The statement does not reassure us that the Board will seek the views of fans. A missed opportunity in my view.
Members Willjag
This is the problem when people start demanding responses. When they don't get a response they like, it only makes matters worse.
ClydebankJag
Wow full facts before making a decision etc - isn't that almost word for word what JJ said on the other thread when he started hiS "big sellout" sales pitch? And both statements were made within an hour of each other, but of course he isn't trying to influence the support on behalf of the board. No way, not at all. Winter of '63
Being a Glasgow Club is precisely the reason the Board should be taking a stance - our major selling point should be that we are different from the Old Firm. I fear we may now have the worst possible scenario - we are left isolated as the rest of Scottish Football rides a popular wave of enthusiasm for standing up to the Bully Boys while Thistle are seen as the lapdogs who wanted to help Rangers and the hopelessly discredited SPL. It's not a club I would want to support.
yoda-jag
This has just made things worse. Wish they had said nothing now Yep. A total cockup of a statement, and paints us in an even worse light now, as you say, wish they had said nothing. Instead, its clear as a blue sky, what outcome they want, but won't say. Disgusted. lady-isobel-barnett
Clearly, this is a complex issue No it's ******* not. It only becomes complex when you entertain the possibility of newco starting life at least two leagues above the level where they should begin. Five other clubs in our division appear to have been able to work that out..
canman
It is a clear case of sitting on the fence and waiting to see what what everyone else decides.

joejag
The splinters in our boards arses must be painful by now!! This lot have sat on the fence with 3 statements that are saying exactly the same. They are taking us for thick shits are are presiding over the death of PTFC. This is heartbreaking!! Coljag
Unless they r playing it the way Celtic did, let others do the dirty work. As we are in Glasgow fear of backlash from old rangers "fans" like threats to raith and their board. I hope so

stillresigned
To paraphrase Dennis Healey this statement carries all the vigour of a dead sheep. Not exactly claiming the moral high ground are we?
