Alan Murray
Going to be interesting how we line-up on Saturday, some difficult decisions for the manager. Think we will stick to the formation we played in the last half of the season but with Bannigan playing in the Cairney role. Very harsh on Lawless not playing but can’t see the more experienced Erskine getting dropped. The bench has plenty of attacking options and I am sure we will see lawless and Elliot on at some stage of the game. ………………...Fox………………….. ……..Muirhead…Paton…Archie……. O'Donnell…Welsh……Murray……Sinclair …………….Bannigan…..Erskine …………………….Doolan Subs: Wightman Rowson Lawless McGuigan Elliot
Dick Dastardly
Some tough decisions for Jackie. Assuming Welsh and Murray are starters then we can't play both Rowson and Bannigan, unless we drop Sinclair. Likewise, only 2 out of Paton, O'Donnell and Lawless can realistically start. I'd also argue that Elliott has done enough to deserve a start, but at the expense of Doolan ? And where does Erskine fit in ? Certainly a nice problem for Jackie to have Edited July 26, 2012 by Dick Dastardly

twinny
We really do have some decent depth in the squad for once! Well in the midfield we do and to a certain extent up front (though up front we've mainly got unproven players with potential). But there have been questions about the back up in defence. lady-isobel-barnett
I've honestly not got a clue. There's just a handful of first choices (Murray, Fox, Archie plus probably O'Donnell & Paton ). There's at least two players for each of the remaining four slots. I would assume Doolan would lead the attack. Erskine seems to be playing a more structured game lately so he's maybe earmarked as a starter. Bannigan's on top form and Lawless has scored goals but both couldn't play if Sinclair is selected. Nope, haven't a scooby.
Armand2
The left-wing back position is Bannigan's, as far as I'm concerned. He's been absolutely outstanding in pre-season and shouldn't be moved simply to accommodate Sinclair. We would have to change our whole system for this to happen too as Bannigan isn't an attacking midfielder - far better in a holding role and Shug is certainly not getting dropped. Bench for Sinclair until further notice, I'm afraid.

Lenziejag
I haven't been to any of the preseason so can't comment on any of the new guys - but I think that Rowson will start(unless injured) as he is one of only 3 senior players and has been outstanding in recent years. Stewarty
The central midfield trio is definitely the conundrum. Murray is a cert for the holding role and, at least to begin with, I expect Jackie to play two in front of him. Welsh will be one of these and I wouldn't be completely surprised if Rowson is the other. This leaves Lawless on the bench as I don't see Erskine getting dropped. --------------------------------Fox-------------------------------- ------------Paton--------Muirhead--------Archie----------- -O'Donnell---------------Murray-----------------Bannigan -----------------Welsh----------------Rowson---------------- -------------------------Erskine---------------------------------- -------------------------------Doolan-----------------------------

simoncordiner
I reckon we might go 4 at the back, as we did against Celtic. Two sitting midfielders and the rest of the midfield playing where they want Fox O'Donnell - Muirhead - Archie - Sinclair Paton - Murray Lawless - Erskine - Bannigan Doolan/Elliot When we've played with one up front in pre-season Elliot has been 1st choice. But I'd prefer to play Doolan, I still think he's our first choiuce striker and the only striker we can count on getting 10+ goals. Derby Jag
I think we will go for something like Fox Murihead Archie Paton O'Donnell Bannigan Murray Welsh Lawless Erskine Doolan The way we played in the Cup last weekend was very flexible and it's hard to fit the way they played into a conventional formation but think it'll be those players. lennythistle
Haven't seen us pre season but going on reports of how lads have looked then I think Lawless will start. Also think Elliott might have a chance of starting a head of Dools. If we pick the guys who are all scoring goals, then Welsh, Elliott and Lawless would be first choice. Bannigan should be a cert going by pre season reports. Don't see Rowser being in squad.
