Gary Peebles Tackle
Seems the 2nd round is sectional as well. We can only get Airdrie, Annan, East Stirlingshire, Morton, QOS, Queen's Park or Stenny. Home against any lower league would do... NORTH/EAST SECTION (8 Teams) ARBROATH COWDENBEATH EAST FIFE FALKIRK FORFAR ATHLETIC MONTROSE RAITH ROVERS RANGERS SOUTH/WEST SECTION (8 Teams) AIRDRIE UNITED ANNAN ATHLETIC EAST STIRLINGSHIRE MORTON PARTICK THISTLE QUEEN OF THE SOUTH QUEEN’S PARK STENHOUSEMUIR

little_miss_jag
Queens park is not bad and easy enough to get to mid week. You would also hope we could beat them but you never know. Falkirk beat Rangers 1st team last year so can see that being a good game!
G SUS
Would have been nice to go to Hampden but we'll beat Queen's Park at Firhill.
simoncordiner
At what round does the regional split finish? Our half of the draw is well winnable... Rangers in the final would be a great money spinner. And, of course, a sweet victory. :0)

I guess it may be moved because of the Olympics but is that not done by then?

G SUS
Queens park are at home though. . . I guess it may be moved because of the Olympics but is that not done by then? Correct. Queens Park can't play at Hampden until the 18th August, due to Olympic'y stuff. They have a precedent of playing at Firhill, so the game will be re-scheduled to Firhill, or Alloa, one would imagine. Edited to add: They aren't even sure they will be playing at Hampden on the 18th August.. Edited July 30, 2012 by G SUS
Dick Dastardly
With Dunfermline, Livvy and Hamilton going out on Saturday and Rangers/Falkirk Morton/QotS in this round, we have a great chance of going all the way in this comp. Craig-W
If the draw is regional why are the new Rangers not in the same section as us? I was hoping we'd get them at Firhill so we could get stuck into them...

If the draw is regional why are the new Rangers not in the same section as us? I was hoping we'd get them at Firhill so we could get stuck into them... They took Dundee's place so stay in that region.

potty trained
Would be great to get Newco in the final. And beat them. This would obviously result in us having beeaten Celtic, Clyde, Queens Park & Newco in the one season.
Ember
From the official QP site: The second round of the Ramsdens Cup will see Queen's take on their old rivals, Partick Thistle, at Hampden. The tie is scheduled for Tuesday, August 14, with a 7.30pm kick-off.
uberteeb
Last game at Hampden is this Friday so that would explain why they can't play there Saturday but no reason it won't be fine for our fixture, all they need to do really is take down a bit of bunting. Norman
The last game at Hampden is on Friday 3rd August. The Olympic games finish on the 12th August. Don't think there's any involvement with the Paralympics, is there?

Lin1876
Looking forward to this, especially if it's at Hampden (and I can't see why not). We shouldn't have too much trouble with Queen's either, and with a lot of 1st division teams already out we can go all the way here. Maybe. Lindau
At what round does the regional split finish? Our half of the draw is well winnable... NEWCO in the final would be a great money spinner. And, of course, a sweet victory. :0) Changed that for you!! Agreed would be a helluva money spinner for the club if we could get NEWCO in the Final, but after watching them yesterday, Falkirk could easily put paid to that senario
Blackpool Jags
Happy with that draw, and might even be able to make it up for the game. Like others, wouldn't mind 'The' ******* in the final. Actually, reminds me of a group during the hippy era - The 'The'. Had one hit IIRC. These new clubs just have no sense of history.
ian_mac
Really good draw for us in terms of logistics as well as being winnable.
