JAGSMAN1968
Neil Doncaster would love to follow the approach of the US Golf Association. Wait until after the competition finishes and then decide on the rules. Thought that's what happens at present! Especially when those two concerned! Peaty FC
Archie says SPFL see small clubs as a soft touch http://m.eveningtimes.co.uk/sport/partick_thistle/14567199.Thistle_boss_Archibald_says_SPFL_see_small_clubs_as_a_soft_touch/ Shafted is the word - celtic buggering off again to play a "glamour" game at the start of the season - twice affecting PTFC now. Nothing to do with "luck of the draw". Complete lack of transparency about fixtures and another farce from the administrators. Probably we will be allowed our rant and then told to shut up and get on with it. To paraphrase George Orwell - "all clubs are equal but some are more equal than others!" MonehJags
The SPFL have had the weekend to come up with a response, no doubt we will get hit with a points deduction for speaking out
delurker
We're being stabbed in the back by the league to make their life easier (AGAIN) because we're a wee club who they don't want around. For those mentioning the randomness of the fixture computer, COME ON. No way this would be allowed to be done to a Hibs, Dundee United, etc. If they don't redress the blatant sporting and financial disadvantage handed to us in an un-notified change of their own policy in violation of precedent, we should be looking for compensation and protest/publicity options to embarass them. How about ourselves and Motherwell invoke the friendly postponement rule to bin our fixtures on 27/08 and play a protest friendly against each other ? Stick a spoke in their wheel any way we can; when we play nice we always get screwed over in favour of the interests of the big clubs they worship.
ian_mac
Would love us to cancel the next game against Celtic at Parkhead and play this "joker card" ourselves. Set up a friendly against Maryhill Juniors and give all money raised to the Maryhill Foodbank. Would be fantastic PR for the club and really give Doncaster a red face.

As I have said they want the likes of Dundee Und and Hibs back and ourselves and Hamilton back where we belong in the Championship. The whole set up in Scottish football is an absolute disgrace! So the protest against the ridiculous scenario of teams being allowed to arrange friendlies and postponing matches is : arranging a friendly and postponing a match. No wonder Doncaster thinks fans are stupid.

Should point out tho', in the unlikely event of that clown ever getting a red face, he'd still have his other face he could use.
BowenBoys
It has to be a home game. Should do it the day of the Celtic friendly. Raise money for charity while they are filling their own pockets.

I know you have communication channels with the club through previous fundraising efforts, why not give them a shout?

MonehJags
Or the weekend when Celtic are in Ireland as has been stated before. This is a good shout. I doubt Maryhill Juniors would be allowed to play any 'Joker cards' though, its only diddy leagues yer allowed tae do that
Lindau
It's a great idea lads. Looks like the club haven't given up the fight, re the fixtures, but pretty sure any emails, letters etc received by those in charge will have been binned, deleted or filed under TO BE IGNORED.... diddy teams complaints!! http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/jags-stick-thorn-side-spfl-8232669#LwqLJrzr3odcC2f0.

We have to be looking at steps like a postponement, demo, etc. whatever will kick up a fuss, get media attention, embarass the sponsors, etc.

yoda-jag
the herald chief football writer gets it http://www.heraldscotland.com/sport/14566934.Matthew_Lindsay__The_SPFL_should_redo_the_botched_2016_17_Ladbrokes_Premiership_fixture_list/ a voice of reason in amongst the slavering mess of other msm writers and derision from two faced opposition supporters

MonehJags
From the Herald article: "It is difficult to see how the governing body can alter the fixture list at this late stage with the new top flight campaign set to get underway on the first Saturday in August." The fixtures were only announced on Friday and were 6 weeks away from the 1st game of the season so were hardly at a 'late stage'

Garscube Road End
This is becoming a rather comical 'stramash' now! Cue some South American/African type refereeing in our games next season.

Maybe those other clubs are looking ahead to next season when they only get 2 home games vs Rangers and Celtic ? Pretty much guaranteed that next season the spfl will return to the usual practice that all clubs get 3 OF home pre-split. Partly due to the current hullabaloo but mostly because their algorithm seems to rely heavily on a team having been in the league the previous season. Partly due to the current hullabaloo but mostly because their algorithm seems to rely heavily on a team having been in the league the previous season. That's a very important point. It may be feasible for us to spread this budget loss over two seasons if we were guaranteed 4 OF home game next season. If Doncaster reverts to what was the status quo we're f*cked.
