eljaggo
Surprised in a way that this topic hasn't been started before now, but perhaps there is some trepidation that is holding people back. I'm not qualified to suggest what the team should be other than to suggest that Archie has somehow to instil some fighting qualities in the team to overcome what someone here called their feeble approach. Presumably we will start with two up front and an attacking midfield that excludes Barton, who slows things down and whose distribution is not good enough to compensate for that. The team also need a stronger captain, who can motivate and lead by example, and maybe Edwards could fill that role since he appears to be the most active and passionate. If Archie is cautious in his selection and tactics, he will do himself no favours. We now need an Alan Archibold.
gerrybritton9
We need positivity from all corners and all angles. It’s the only way to get out. If the fans believe then the team will achieve North stand, JH, jagscast, jagzone, social media We believe as we have believed before remember kids v experience #wegotthis Archie’s Army ???? “And who’dve thought, that after all. Something as simple Archibald would save us all ......” Lack of belief doesn’t bear thinking about. Big Col
We're at home and it's a must win game. We need to be attack minded and at them from the off. None of this tippy tappy sideways backward negative nonsense. The players need to be up for it and brave on the ball. Run at them, open them up, have some shots at goal. C'mon the Jags!!

Stephen1876
BBC saying Turnbull is suspended tomorrow...so that my force Barton back if we stick with the back 3, but it also means we will have a right sided centre back at LCB. Also suggests that Fraser is our injured again...
eljaggo
Barton also saying on the BBC website that new players are not needed, and that getting the most out of the current squad is the key. He makes no suggestion as to how that could be achieved.
MonehJags
BBC - "Midfielder Gary Fraser has joined Partick Thistle's long injury list after suffering a knee problem." Surely not!!!!! This has got to be just lazy journalism. Theres absolutely no way he can be injured again.
Big Col
If that is true, then I think we've seen the last of him.

stuart_adam
If that is true, then I think we've seen the last of him. Only a knock should only be out a week or so
stuart_adam
Archie also confirmed Osman and Dumbuya are back to full training not expected back to after Jan break.
Big Col
Only a knock should only be out a week or so Isn't his contract up in a week or so? Has he done enough to merit a new one? And if he hasn't recovered from the knock should he be offered a new one?
Yellow & Redneck
Fraser is only signed up until January. Don't see him getting a new deal as he doesn't offer anything different from the rest of our midfield in relation to style of play or ability. Tomorrow is a big game for us. We need to be winning it despite Hamilton being on a good run of form. If we are to lose to another relegation rival tomorrow, Archie deserves the sack.
Auld Jag
Think we should start with 2 upfront.I thought Sammon,Storey and Edwards were our best players in the first half against Motherwell.A performance like that except for the full game this time.We have won 3 out of our last 4 home games, because of our terrible away form this makes this a must win game for us imo. elevenone
Echo what Auld Jag says regards 2 up front. If it has come to lone striker time vs Hamilton at home then I’m fearing the worst.
javeajag
It’s time we played a simple 4 4 2 which can shift to 4 5 1 This is just a must win game
NELL
4 points from the next 3 games minimum and attaching football is required .Hamilton will be up for it if thistle are not then big trouble ahead.
Big Col
IMO, we need 6 as a minimum, not 4. 2 of the 3 games are against teams immediately above us.
NELL
Depends on how things pan out against Hamilton, play poorly then no chance at Aberdeen then Ross C is a must win . Win against Hamilton then game on confidence wise .
Big Col
One of the best things about playing Hamilton is laughing at the wee Accies Danny Dyer wannabes on Firhill Road after the game.

MonehJags
I don't know what to make of Barton's interview in the evening times but he isn't holding back saying everyone is making him look bad and that being three nil up playing route one football made him wonder what football is all about? First and foremost, it about scoring goals and wining games. When we are three nil up the we can fart about with the square balls cross the back and half way line. There's no points for possession or how many passes you make in this game. If we are going to play football, you need to be direct and incisive with the passing and get bodies forward. They will be right in our faces today and that would be my biggest concern because we cant handle that. We need to be quicker in possession and fight for every ball. Agree with previous posts about playing two up top, any combination with Doolan. We need Erskine to get back to his best running at defenders and leave is fancy flicks at home. We need to be positive in our approach today. Come on Thistle, its now or never Edited December 23, 2017 by MonehJags
ironfist
Didn’t like Barton’s interview to be honest. Makes him look a bit big time and doesn’t sound like a very harmonious squad right now, but he is right about some things. Our defence has been honking, with far too many individual errors
